RSS Sarsanghchalak Dr Mohan Bhagwat attended the Vidya Bharati Akhil Bharatiya Shiksha Sansthan programme in Bhopal on March 4, where he called for inclusive societal progress and holistic education. Addressing the gathering, he emphasised that education should not be confined to books but must shape values, character, and national development.
“Our efforts should not be limited to the welfare of only one class or group; we must work for the betterment of the entire society. Our strength and resources should contribute to the progress of all,” Bhagwat said. He stressed the need to engage with diverse ideologies, asserting, “We must take along even those who do not agree with our views.”
Dr Bhagwat underlined the pivotal role of education in shaping the future, stating that Vidya Bharati’s efforts go beyond academics to instill strong moral values in students. “Vidya Bharati is not just about education; it builds life values and character. The world is looking towards Bharat, and we must provide the right guidance for humanity,” he said.
He further stressed that change is inevitable, but its direction should be purposeful. “The world is ever-changing, but we must ensure that change leads to moral and social upliftment,” he remarked.
Speaking on technology’s influence, Bhagwat urged for ethical frameworks to guide its use. “Technology is shaping every aspect of society. While we embrace progress, we must ensure that it aligns with human welfare and discard harmful elements,” he stated.
Reiterating the Indian philosophy of inclusivity, Bhagwat highlighted the importance of collective harmony. “Bharataiya culture has always fostered unity in diversity. We must understand that we are an integral part of society, and societal transformation begins with individual change,” he said.
Vidya Bharati’s National Training Camp
The five-day All India Full-Time Worker Practice Class, hosted by Vidya Bharati, an RSS affiliate, commenced on March 4 at Sharda Vihar Residential School campus in Bhopal. Dr Mohan Bhagwat inaugurated the event, marking the beginning of a comprehensive training programme designed to enhance educational, managerial, and administrative skills.
Over 700 full-time workers from across Bharat are attending the camp, alongside NCERT and CBSE officials, Bhasha Bharati President, and education experts. The 22-session programme aims to strengthen Vidya Bharati’s mission in over 22,000 schools nationwide.
Following Bhagwat’s arrival on March 3, security measures were heightened in designated areas, including Saraswati Vidya Mandir, Sharda Vihar Kerwa Dam, Premier Orchid, and Samidha Sangh office in Arera Colony. Authorities enforced red zone-no fly zones, restricting drones, paragliders, and hot air balloons within a five-kilometer radius.
Since its establishment in 1952, Vidya Bharati has become one of Bharat’s largest educational institutions, operating 22,000 schools and employing 1,54,000 teachers who educate 3.6 million students. It also manages 60 colleges and one university dedicated to higher education.
