Recent days we have witnessed the unravelling of the Democrat cabal-run, US Deep State-funded international aid agency, USAID and its many ‘interests’ and assets in Bharat. From higher education institutions boasting of international standards and global faculty to digital media platforms subsisting on clandestine foreign funding because of dubious records, staff and editorial stand and from massively funded grassroots organisations to those promoting world peace while being fronts for international terror outfits, USAID has been the leader board of the international funding ecosystem. Until recently when the federal Department of Government Efficiency or DOGE decided to double down and started turning pages of their account books – only to find extreme mishandling of US taxpayer money to fund global regime change, political instability, the diversity-inclusion agenda, and Leftist propaganda. The most recent case in point is Bangladesh wherein the democratically elected Sheikh Hasina Government was unceremoniously thrown out of power as part of an engineered coup d’état involving rioting students, members of the Bangladeshi civil society – one of whom was installed as the head of a dysfunctional interim arrangement – and military generals. But for timely help from Bharat, Ms Hasina would have faced the same fate as her father in 1975. It has been placed on record that Ms Hasina fell afoul of the US Deep State due to her refusal to let them build a military base on St. Martin’s Islands in the Bay of Bengal, the major objective of which was to limit Bharat’s growing geopolitical, regional, and global stature.
The Congress connection

In October 2009, Sam Pitroda was appointed as the advisor to the then Prime Minister of India. Then he was founding his own NGO in the USA – the Global
Knowledge Initiative
The official website of Global Knowledge Initiative (GKI) says, “In 2009 three people sat down together to ask a question as relevant today as it was then. How might we build new platforms that unite and magnify people’s abilities to solve the challenges that are most meaningful to them, and in the process upend the old models of the social sector to offer something more collaborative, more open, and more innovative?”
There are two other co-founders of GKI: Nina V. Fedoroff and Sara Farley. Both Federoff and Farley have interesting antecedents. According to the IRS 990 form, both Nina and Sara are still board members of Sam Pitroda’s NGO – GKI.
Who is Nina V. Fedoroff?
Nina V. Fedoroff is the former Science and Technology Adviser to the Secretary of State, the US. A molecular biologist, Nina Federoff was born in Ohio and completed her PhD from in 1972 from Rockefeller University. The Rockefeller University was founded in June 1901 as The Rockefeller Institute for Medical Research—often called simply The Rockefeller Institute—by John D. Rockefeller of the infamous Rockefeller family.
In 2001, President Bill Clinton appointed Fedoroff to the National Science Board, which oversees the National Science Foundation which administers the science awards. Fedoroff was the Science and Technology Adviser to U.S. Secretaries of State, Condoleezza Rice and Hillary Clinton.
In 2007, President George W. Bush awarded her the National Medal of Science in the field of Biological Sciences, the highest award for lifetime achievement in scientific research in the United States. Fedoroff was President of the American Association for the Advancement of Science (AAAS) from 2011 to 2012.
From 2007 to 2010, Nina was the advisor to the then administrator Rajiv Shah for the United States Agency for International Development (USAID). He also served in a range of leadership roles including Director of Agricultural Development, Director of Strategic Opportunities, Deputy Director of Policy and Finance, and Chief Economist at the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation. Who is Rajiv Shah? He is the President of the Rockefeller Foundation and was the sixteenth administrator of USAID from 2010 to 2015 under the Obama Administration.
Interestingly, Rajiv Shah received the Pravasi Bharatiya Samman Award, the highest official honor for non-resident Indians, awarded by the President of India in 2011 – under the Congress government – when he was the administrator of USAID.
Let us look at a few instances of what USAID was up to in India under the garb of international aid and funding. Between 2008 and 2024, $275.48 million worth of aid was dispensed to 54 Indian entities including non-governmental non-for-profits, media outlets, educational entities, and individuals. An overwhelming majority of those obligated to aid and funding from USAID are based out of New Delhi. This probably explains why the Left-liberal discourse remains firmly rooted in Delhi-based institutions, institutional offshoots, legacy media organisations and new media entities, family run institutions and others. All of this has pretty much resulted in the elite narrative-setting that has controlled public discourse post-independence. As per recent revelations, USAID payments were made to ‘assets’ in New Delhi – via conduits – with the stated objective of destabilising the Indian economy, ultimately targeting Prime Minister Modi and his Government. Some reports have quoted sources among the Democrats saying that the USAID is and always has been the primary source of funding for the influence peddling schemes and the indirect sources of income for hundreds of not-for-profits, media entities, and individual influencers.
Congress’ Notorious Connection
What is more, Sam Pitroda, the eponymous overseas chairman of the Congress Party and one of Rahul Gandhi’s principal advisors, runs an NGO called GKI. He co-founded it with two women – one a former advisor to the US Government and the other, the present vice president of the Rockefeller Foundation. The organisation is funded by – you guessed it – the Rockefeller Foundation, the US State Department and USAID! No points for guessing what the major thrust points of the NGO would be.
Malevolent activities
- USAID was established in 1961 to provide humanitarian aid and promote economic development but has since transformed into a geopolitical tool advancing American interests
- Investigations reveal that USAID funds have been diverted to groups linked to Al-Qaeda, the Taliban, and Hamas, inadvertently strengthening terrorist networks under the guise of development aid
- The agency has played a key role in fostering political upheavals, including the 2014 Maidan uprising in Ukraine and anti-government movements in Belarus, Georgia, and Latin America, undermining sovereign governments.
- USAID frequently bypasses official state mechanisms, funding non-governmental organisations (NGOs) that operate as unregulated entities, weakening local institutions, and fostering dependency
- The agency has been accused of leveraging financial assistance to coerce foreign governments into adopting controversial social policies, particularly regarding LGBTQ+ rights, gender ideology, and left-wing radicalism and activism
- Organisations such as Open Society Foundations (OSF), Amnesty International India, and Human Rights Watch have been involved in promoting anti-India rhetoric under the pretext of human rights advocacy
- USAID funding supports radical feminist and LGBTQ activism through entities like ICRW, imposing Western ideological frameworks that have led to social polarisation in India
- Groups such as the Ford Foundation, Christian Aid, and Oxfam India have allegedly funded projects that propagate anti-Hindu sentiment under the guise of social justice and minority rights
- USAID’s implementing partners span multiple sectors, including healthcare, education, and governance, with operations across various Indian states
Funding From Soros & USAID
The OCCRP or the Organised Crime and Corruption Reporting Project, which claims to have investigative reporters stationed in over six continents, has been receiving generous funds from its chief benefactor – George Soros – as well as USAID. According to France-based Mediapart, OCCRP is used by USAID to trigger sanction procedures and judicial probes. Said to be adept at launching investigations against all forms of corruption around the world, the OCCRP has never ever investigated the US Government and is almost routinely ‘directed’ to look into foreign governments apparently hostile to American interests. Some of these unfortunate countries include Malta, Cyprus, Venezuela, and even Russia. OpIndia, way back in August 2023 and much before the current DOGE-propelled meltdown, had predicted that the OCCRP was planning a precision hit-job perhaps along the lines of the now-redundant American short seller ‘Hindenburg Research’.
Maligning Bharat
Rahul Gandhi routinely uses material published by the OCCRP to launch attacks against PM Modi and the Indian Government. The allegations around the cancellation of a Covaxin order amounting to $324 million by Brazil and the Pegasus spyware could be linked to malicious reports published on the OCCRP website of which Mr Gandhi and his advisors are particularly fond. The unmasking of USAID also raises serious questions over the veracity of the several international indexes which the Opposition takes recourse to quite regularly to malign Bharat, even on international platforms.
Who Funded Bharat Jodo Yatra?
Prominent among these are organisations like Concern Worldwide, which publishes the Hunger Index, RSF which puts together the Press Freedom Report, and the USCIRF which brings out the Religious Freedom Report. Little wonder then that Bharat ranks quite low on all these indexes! Most of these agenda-pushing organisations have been quoted repeatedly by Rahul Gandhi and other members of the Opposition.
Not once they have been diligent enough to check the veracity of the claims being made on many of these platforms. Apparently then, the USAID enters countries on the name of health, education, women’s empowerment but eventually moves on to spreading radical Left ideology, funding political parties and concerns for regime change and media management. Funding to various organisations pushing LGBTQ and Dalit rights in India spiked with the coming to power of Joe Biden in the US.
One such organisation that ostensibly works in the areas of women’s empowerment and Dalit rights is Pradaan, headed by Vijay Mahajan, another close aide of the Gandhi family, CEO of the Rajiv Gandhi Foundation, and the chief architect of Rahul Gandhi’s Bharat Jodo Yatra. Was the Yatra, therefore, indirectly or directly funded by the US Deep State? How is it that George Soros’ Open Society Foundation is closely linked to the US funding agency as well as everyone else directly or indirectly involved in the Bharat Jodo Yatra? Answering these critical questions might require further investigation and scrutiny but the drift of the matter has become quite clear. The enemies lie within. And have been fed and fattened by the US Deep State. One only wonders how things would have unfolded if USAID had been allowed to continue to ply its trade.
