On the occasion of Basant Panchami, reflecting on the significance of the gathering, Swami Avdheshanand Giri emphasised, “At this sacred gathering, we witness the unity of India—people from diverse ideologies and faiths coming together by the banks of the Ganga. While the world is gripped by fear and turmoil, India remains a beacon of peace and joy. In the face of global conflicts, India stands tall as a symbol of wisdom. With our spiritual values, yoga, and Ayurveda, we are ready to lead the world. The global community turns to India for solutions, and I express my deep gratitude to Chief Minister Yogi Ji for ensuring such exceptional arrangements for this monumental event.”

During the sacred gathering at the Triveni Sangam, sants and spiritual leaders not only took a holy dip but also voiced strong support for the Mahakumbh, responding to its critics. They praised the extraordinary arrangements made by Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, lauding the facilities provided to the devotees while condemning the opposition’s remarks. Under the directives of the Yogi government, the Horticulture Department meticulously planned this grand spectacle for the Mahakumbh Mela’s bathing festivals, ensuring a steady supply of fresh rose petals. A staggering 20 quintals of rose petals are showered during each bathing festival, a tradition upheld since Paush Purnima and the first Amrit Snan on Makar Sankranti. A symbolic floral tribute was also offered during the second Amrit Snan on Mauni Amavasya.

Jagatguru Mahamandaleshwar Santosh Das Satua Baba Maharaj of Panch Nirmohi Ani Akhara remarked, “To those questioning the sants and Mahakumbh, I have a message—(SP chief) Akhilesh Yadav ji, you have never followed or respected Sanatan Dharma. Do not attempt to benefit from it now. We remember how, during your tenure, Sanatanis were targeted. Stop spreading rumours for political gain. We are Sanatanis, and won’t allow people like you to mislead others.”

Chinmayanand Bapu expressed his gratitude, stating, “Today is an auspicious occasion, as all Akharas and Mahamandaleshwars proceed towards Sangam. Basant Panchami holds special significance for students, as taking a holy dip in the Sangam is believed to bring success. I extend my appreciation to the administration for their outstanding arrangements. The atmosphere today is calm and well-managed.”
