Based on the theme of Swarnim Bharat: Virasat and Vikas, Chhattisgarh's tableau highlights the deep connection between nature and spirituality

Raipur: Rich cultural heritage of Chhattisgarh is all set to shine at the Bharat Parv 2025 to be held at Red Fort in New Delhi on the occasion of Republic day.

The state’s tableau showcasing the state’s rich tribal (Vanvasi) traditions along the Ramnavami community, renowned for their unmatched devotion for Bhagwan Ram was unveiled for the press preview on Thursday, January 22, receiving appreciations from the viewers.

The tableau is based on this year theme “Swarnim Bharat: Virasat and Vikas” (Golden India: Heritage and Development). A deep connection between life, nature and spirituality was highlighted in the tableau, showcasing the rich and diverse cultural heritage of the state.

The state’s tableau this year features a mix of folk life, customs and tradition of the state renowned for its age-old unique tribal culture and historic significance.

The front part of the tableau highlights a man and a woman of the “Ramnami community” celebrated for their unmatched devotion for the formless Bhagwan Ram.

Known for its unwavering faith in Bhagwan Ram’s name, the members of the community inscribes the word “Ram-Ram” all over their bodies and clothes. They are shown reciting verses of sacred Ramcharitmanas, a practice very familiar to the community members.

The next segment of the tableau showcases ghunghrus (a pair of anklets), which are used widely during the “bhajans.” The next segment highlights attire, jewellery, artifacts and art traditions of the Vanvasi culture.

Further a trumpet musical instrument and the sulfi tree integral to the folk life of Bastar are prominently shown.

The final segment highlights a peacock which was depicted at the back of the tableau, underlining the beauty and vibrancy of folk life. In all, the tableau paints an impressive picture of the state’s unique cultural heritage along highlighting the deep association between the nature and spirituality.

Expressing his happiness over the selection of the tableau, Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai said “Its a matter of great happiness, that this time a glimpse of the cultural heritage, tribal traditions, and Ramnavami community of Chhattisgarh will be seen in the Bharat Parv 2025.

यह बड़ी खुशी की बात है कि गणतंत्र दिवस के अवसर पर राष्ट्रीय राजधानी दिल्ली के लाल किले पर आयोजित होने वाले “भारत पर्व 2025” में इस बार छत्तीसगढ़ की सांस्कृतिक विरासत, जनजातीय परंपराओं और रामनामी समुदाय की झलक देखने को मिलेगी।

“There is a deep connection between life, nature, and spirituality in the cultural heritage of the state,” added the Chief Minister while congratulating the people of the state for the appreciation received for the tableau.
