The Prayagraj Mahakumbh is not just a celebration of spirituality and traditions but also a platform for spreading vital social and environmental messages. Following the sacred Makar Sankranti Snan, the Kumbh area will witness the gathering of various social organizations, NGOs, and institutions dedicated to environmental conservation.

Highlighting the significance of water conservation, this event will feature discussions on related issues. Notably, the Jal Sahelis of Bundelkhand, renowned for their remarkable efforts in water conservation, will participate in the programme to share their experiences and inspire others with their impactful journey.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi, in his Mann Ki Baat address, has praised the efforts of Jal Sahelis working in groups for water conservation. Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has also recognised and honoured these Jal Sahelis for their significant contributions to water conservation.

These women have been actively engaged in water conservation and raising awareness in several districts of Uttar Pradesh and Madhya Pradesh, particularly in the Bundelkhand region. At the Mahakumbh, they will not only share their experiences in a discussion on water conservation but will also gain insights into efforts being undertaken across the country.

Dr Sanjay Singh, National Convener of the ‘Jal Jan Jodo Abhiyan,’ shared that after the Makar Sankranti snan, a special program will be organised at Mahakumbh for water conservation workers and organisations. The event will feature discussions and experience-sharing by individuals working in various fields of water conservation. The Jal Sahelis of Bundelkhand are set to participate in this program, contributing their valuable insights to the national dialogue on water conservation.
