Condemnation of the Naming of a Road After Siddaramaiah
Meanwhile, the Mysuru city corporation’s decision to name a road after CM Siddaramaiah has triggered strong resentment. Citizens of Mysuru have expressed strong objections to the proposal of naming a road in the city after Chief Minister Siddaramaiah.
In this context, Bhanu Mohan, a resident of Mysuru and an environmentalist, who has filed a complaint with the Mysuru City Corporation, questioned what public service Siddaramaiah has provided to deserve such an honour. He argued that no politician utilises their own money for public service and pointed out that residents are still not receiving adequate services at the Mysuru KR Hospital. He expressed frustration, urging for improvements to be made before considering naming the road after Siddaramaiah.
He stated, “Siddaramaiah is currently facing investigation in the MUDA scam; therefore, we object to naming a part of KR Road after him. That is why I have submitted my objection.”
In response to the ongoing MUDA case, social activist Snehamayi Krishna commented, “Siddaramaiah is facing allegations in the MUDA scam, and I have accused him of being the main accused. It is regrettable that they are moving forward to name a major road in Mysuru after such an accused individual. We must acknowledge the contributions of Mysuru’s kings. There is also the K.R. Hospital for infectious diseases on that road, which has historically been referred to as the ‘P.K.T.B. Road.’ Naming such a historically significant road after a person with serious allegations is unfortunate.”
As the MUDA case takes a twist, Snehamayi Krishna made explosive statements during an interview with Suvarna News. Residents of Mysuru have filed objections to naming a significant portion of KR Road after Siddaramaiah, who is a key accused in the MUDA case. “I will continue to fight on this matter. It’s baffling how the officials conducted a council meeting without any counsellors present,” Krishna added, vowing to pursue this issue further.
