“BJP-led NDA alliance will win over 51 seats”: Jharkhand President BJP Chief Babulal Marandi ahead of results

As Jharkhand gears up for the counting of votes on November 23, BJP state president Babulal Marandi has expressed confidence in the BJP-led NDA alliance securing a majority with over 51 seats in the 81-member Assembly. The alliance, which includes AJSU, JD(U), and LJP (Ram Vilas), faces off against the JMM-led opposition bloc comprising Congress, RJD, and CPI(ML)

Ranchi: With the counting of votes of the Jharkhand Assembly polls slated for Saturday, November 23, Jharkhand BJP president Babulal Marandi is confident that the BJP-led NDA alliance will win more than 51 seats. “BJP workers have worked hard on the ground and based on the information received from them, I can say that the BJP-led NDA alliance will win more than 51 seats in the Jharkhand assembly elections…,” Babulal Marandi told ANI.

Speaking on the Chief Minister’s face, he said, “After the counting of votes the party will conduct a meeting following which there would be an election to elect the legislature party leader.”

The BJP-led alliance in Jharkhand includes the All Jharkhand Students Union (AJSU), Janata Dal (United), and Lok Janshakti Party (Ram Vilas), while the JMM-led alliance consists of Congress, Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD), and the Communist Party of India (Marxist-Leninist).

Matrize exit poll estimated the NDA could win 42-47 seats, the INDIA bloc 25-30 seats, and others 1-4 seats.
Polling for the 81 aseembly constituencies in Jharkhand was held in two phases on November 13 and November 20. The counting of votes for Jharkhand, along with those for the Maharashtra Assembly elections and bypolls in several states, will be declared on November 23. (With inputs from ANI)
