NEW DELHI: The Uttar Pradesh government quickly swung into action after the court on November 19 ordered the survey of Sambhal’s Jama Masjid. The petition was filed by Mahant Rishi Raj and renowned lawyer Vishnu Shankar Jain, who was also involved in the Kashi Vishwanath temple case presented the Hindu viewpoint before the court. Jain argued that the mosque was constructed on the site of a pre-existing Hari Har Mandir that was destroyed by Mughal emperor Babur in 1529.
Jain presented evidence suggesting the existence of a Hindu temple at the site and argued that the Archaeological Survey of India (ASI) had classified the area as a protected monument.
Today the Hon’ble Civil Court sambhal on my petition has directed survey by advocate commissioner in alleged jami masjid in sambhal which was known as hari har mandir. Babur partly demolished this place in 1529. It is believed that kalki avatar is to happen at sambhal.
