Maulana Sajjad Nomani, with whom Swara Bhaskar posed is anti-women, pro-Taliban and a fake news peddler

Maulana Sajjad Nomani’s views on women are no secret. He says that girls should not be sent to schools and colleges and the parents doing so should burn in hell. However, these views were conveniently ignored by the so-called champion of feminism Swara Bhaskar

An image of so-called actress and feminist, Swara Bhaskar with Maulana Sajjad Nomani is the talk of the town today. In the run up to the Maharashtra elections, Swara met with Sajjad Nomani along with her husband Fahad Ahmed. Swara and her husband met with the Maulana hoping that he would appeal to his radical supporters to vote for Fahad Ahmed in the elections.

The meeting was wrong in a lot of ways, considering what the Maulana propagates. Swara, who claims that she is the champion of feminism, was seen with a man who has very dim views about women.

Not only the women, but Sajjad Nomani is an open backer of the Taliban, which runs a gruesome regime in Afghanistan. He has had rabid views on education for women, while his stance on the Taliban is clearly drawn on radical Islamic lines. Furthermore, he is the same man who has peddled lies on something known as a Bhagwa love trap conspiracy.

Swara’s meeting with Nomani suggests that the mask is off and politics is more important than the so-called feminism she often preaches about. The meeting comes at a time when Fahad has been making appeals to the Muslim community to vote for him and the NCP-Congress-Shiv Sena (Maha Vikas Aghadi). He has been fielded by the NCP from the Anushakti Nagar Vidhan Sabha constituency.

Normani’s view on women

Nomani, who is a member of the All India Muslim Personal Law Board, had said that sending women to schools or colleges is forbidden in Islam. He condemned those parents who send their daughters to school or college and said that if they continue to do so, they will rot in hell. He added that even wearing a hijab or burqa and going to study is not good enough. The more important thing is that the girl should be accompanied at all times. Being careless about one’s daughter is ‘haram,’ he had said. Trying to send a message that a daughter’s place is inside the house, he added that, if possible, parents should educate their daughters at home. He also adds that if a girl is being educated at home, then it ought to be done by a female teacher only.

Peddling lies

In another speech, he said that there were around 8 lakh Muslim women who have become infidels after meeting with Hindu boys. He said that Hindu groups have created a team of Hindu youth who are trained in Urdu and Islamic teachings. They use this to trap Muslim women, he also said.

We are sleeping while these Hindu youth embark on their mission, he said. Billions are being spent on trapping Muslim women, and yet we continue to sleep, he also said. He urged all Muslims to wake up to this issue and sort out the issue.

While he just went on a rant, he did not offer even an iota of proof to back his views. One knows that the cases relating to Love Jihad undertaken by the Muslim youth are documented in various probes, including the pan-India one being carried out by the National Investigation Agency (NIA). In one such probe, it was found that both Hindu and Christian girls in Kerala were trapped by Muslim youth. They were later sent to Afghanistan, where they joined the Islamic State. However there is no such documented evidence to support the rant by Maulana Sajjad Nomani.

A Taliban backer

Since the Taliban took over Afghanistan, it is a well-known fact that all rights of women have been taken away. The regime is so brutal towards women that the Taliban does not even allow women to enter into a discussion.

Sajjad Nomani, with whom Swara Bhaskar and her husband posed, is a great fan of the Taliban. After the Taliban took over Kabul, he had said, ‘no one can defeat a community that is ready to die in its pursuit of power. Congratulations to the Taliban. As a Muslim from Hind, I salute your courage, religious zeal, caliber and determination,’ he said. He also said that the world had witnessed a historic moment. He then extended his greetings to the clerics of Afghanistan and the leaders of the Muslim community.
