Fresh Air Waste Management Services Pvt. Ltd. Founded by Partha Pratim Pathak is a pioneer in the disposal of Bio-Medical Waste and liquid waste management in the whole North East region. Fresh Air has established the first Common Bio-Medical Waste Treatment Facility (CBWTF) in the region, providing services to prominent healthcare institutions in both the government and private sectors. In addition to biomedical waste management, Partha has expanded his entrepreneurial ventures to include Forcetech Engineering, a plastic waste recycling factory that contributes to environmental sustainability through innovative recycling solutions in the year 2022. With over two decades of experience, Partha has played a significant role in shaping waste management policies and environmental sustainability in the region, while also diversifying into other sectors under the Fresh Air group.
Earlier it was very difficult for Partha to Convince clients. Many hospitals were initially hesitant to join his project, as they had long relied on wetlands in their backyards for waste disposal. This practice faced scrutiny when a news story emerged about biomedical waste being discarded in these areas, where it was scavenged by stray animals. This revelation put hospitals in an awkward position, ultimately creating a pivotal opportunity for Partha. Seizing this moment, Partha offered comprehensive services for the collection, transportation, treatment, and disposal of biomedical waste. This not only addressed the hospitals’ immediate concerns but also aligned with the broader goal of ensuring safe and responsible waste management in the region.
Partha said that, there was a time when it was difficult to find a worker as people were afraid and reluctant to collect wastes contaminated with blood and body fluid. Starting with a single hospital, once Partha took personal responsibility for collecting biomedical waste (BMW) by himself, even in challenging water logging conditions. At that time, he did not have any workers to assist him, so he undertook the entire task himself. This hands-on approach was crucial in establishing trust and demonstrating his commitment to providing reliable service in all situations.
The initial investment in Fresh Air Waste Management Services was around Rs 2 crore, which has since grown with further investments in technological advancements. The total investment in the biomedical waste management sector now exceeds Rs 10 crore.
Partha plans further include expansion of Forcetech Engineering’s recycling capacity from 5 tons per day to 10 tons per day, while continuing to manufacture bio-medical waste storage bags and other end products, contributing to the company’s circular economy model.
Fresh Air Waste Management Services, under Partha’s leadership, has become synonymous with biomedical waste disposal in North East India. It is recognized as the first and largest CBWTF in the region and a leader in waste management. With Forcetech Engineering’s bio-medical waste storage bags and recycling initiatives, and the Tiger Camp Kaziranga in the tourism sector, the brand continues to expand its footprint across diverse industries.
