More skeletons are tumbling out of Canada’s closet on the Khalistan issue. The Canada Border Agency has now confirmed one Sandeep Singh Sidhu alias Sunny is working with them.
Sidhu who is affiliated with the International Sikh Youth Federation(ISYF) is an accused in the murder of Shaurya Chakra Awardee, Comrade Balwinder Singh Sidhu. He was murdered in Punjab’s Tarn Taran.
The confirmation by the Canada Border Agency comes amidst the flare up between India and Canada over the killing of Sikh terrorist Hardeep Singh Nijjar. Canadian Prime Minister, Justin Trudeau had alleged that the violent criminal activity in Canada had connections to India.
On October 18 India shared information with Canada on Sandeep Singh. India said that Sandeep Singh Sidhu has emerged as a significant entity involved in promoting terrorist activities in Punjab. He was in touch with Pakistan based Lakhbir Singh Rode and other ISI operatives/officials and successfully executed a targeted killing of Comrade Balwinder Singh Sandy in October 2020. He took the helm of gangster Sukhmeetpal Singh, India also said.
“The individual, an employee of the Canada Border Service Agency and recent promoted to the rank of Superintendent is actively associated with pro-khalistan terrorists including Lakhbir Singh Rode, USA based Gujrot Kaur (highly radicalised pro-Khalistan operative claims herself as the widow of Pakistan based KLF chief Harmeet Singh alias Happy alias HD, now deceased) and also with Pakistan ISI officers.
Following this note from India the Canada Border Agency has confirmed that Sandeep Singh Sidhu is working with them. In an official email the border agency told The Print that they can conform that the individual being referred to is an employee of CBSA.
On the website details about how candidates are assessed by the CBSA are available. It says that a candidate has to undergo a telephone integrity interview, a credit check and law enforcement and security database verifications. Candidates should also submit digital fingerprints (at your expense) a form that includes information about your: employment history, qualifications, references and travel outside of Canada, the website also said.
Sidhu an accused in the murder of Comrade Balwinder Singh Sidhu is 43 years old. The case was taken up by the National Investigation Agency (NIA) in 2021, following the Supreme Court was told that the operatives of the banned Khalistan Liberation Force were behind the murder.
Sidhu lives in Abbotsford, British Colombia. A dossier by the NIA says that he promotes terror activity and has links with Rode, the nephew of Jarnail Singh Bhindranwale. The outfit ISYF which Sidhu is part of is banned in India.
