In a shocking incident, a Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) swayamsewak was attacked in Dwarka, Gujarat, for playing Garba music in his car. This incident took place at Madina Masjid Chowk in Jamkhambhalia, where a mob of Islamists, including Lala Sheikh and Rustam, surrounded and attacked the RSS swayamsewak.

The victim revealed how he was threatened, pulled out of his car, and assaulted. Following the incident, the police registered an FIR against 30 people, including Lala Sheikh and Rustam.

Notably, the incident occurred on Monday, October 14, 2024, when the victim was on his way to drop off his friend near Madina Masjid Chowk in Jamkhambhalia. At the time, a Majlis program was ongoing at the location, organised by the Muslim community. As soon as the victim reached there, a crowd of 25-30 people surrounded him. They pulled him out of his car, grabbed him by the collar, and threatened him. The victim then lodged a police complaint, after which the police registered an FIR against them.

The RSS swayamsewak said that Lala Sheikh and Rustam started hurling abuses and threatened him not to pass through from there again; otherwise, he would be killed. Somehow, he managed to escape the crowd and went straight to the police station.

After this incident, the Jamkhambhalia police acted promptly, senior police officers arrived at the scene, and security was tightened. The police registered an FIR against 30 people, under various sections, including BNS sections 352, 351 (3), 198 (2), 190, and 191 (2).

Police incharge of Jamkhambhalia Police Station Bhupendra Singh Sarvaiya said, “the incident happened last night (October 14) and we took action immediately owing to the sensitive nature of the complaint. A case of riot has been filed. The police were constantly monitoring the area due to the religious programs and processions of the Muslim community. Now, the named accused are going to be arrested,” he informed.

A VHP leader was assaulted by Muslim mob in Jam Khambhalia last night.

Reason?- He was just passing near a mosque while playing Garba songs in his car.

Assailants threatened him to kill if he used the same route again.

He further said, “The process of locating the evidence has also been completed. Only two people’s names are known to the complainant and the identities of the other culprits are still unknown. We will investigate the nearby CCTVs, find out about the other individuals and take appropriate action against them. All of them will be taken into custody right away. At the same time, arrangements have been made in the vicinity of the complainant’s residence to ensure that there is no unrest or panic. Now, that things are under control, more action is underway.”

The police are keeping a close watch on the entire area to prevent any untoward incident.

It is to be noted that in a similar incident on October 12, massive chaos broke out in Lakheya village in the Garhwa district of Jharkhand after Muslims stopped the immersion procession of the idol of Maa Durga.

According to the reports, Hindu devotees were carrying the idol of the deity through a Muslim-majority colony for immersion when they were stopped mid-way. The Hindu worshippers were not allowed to pass through the colony and were then attacked with stones by a Muslim mob. This left many of them injured.

On being informed about the matter, the police reached the scene. Instead of taking stringent action against the attackers, they began pleading with the residents of the Muslim-dominated colony.
