RAIPUR: In another shocking incident of exploiting a Hindu woman by concealing religious identity, a woman resident of Kawardha district has lodged a complaint in Kotwali police station limits, alleging a man for raping her on pretext of securing her husband release from prison.

The woman’s husband is in in jail and the accused has allegedly convinced the woman that he could secure her husband release with help of occult practices.

The accused Sahil Khan had met the woman around six months ago at a tea stall and had tried befriending her, only to be rejected by the woman, though Sahil returned at her place after gathering information about her and somehow convinced her to assist in securing her husband release.

Shockingly, the accused Sahil Khan had introduced himself as Raju Singh, he was also carrying an Aadhar Card with his fake identity. Troubled by unfavorable circumstances, the woman believed the accused and performed occult practices as advised by the accused to secure her husband release.

Sahil also convinced the victim lady, that in order to secure her husband release they need to arrange money, extorting around Rs 3 lakh from the victim. Later the accused forced the woman to make physical relationship with her as part of occult practice to which the woman refused strongly. However, he continued forcing her to do the same and eventually raped her.

He continued exploiting the victim lady for quite some time after which the woman somehow mustered the courage and filed a complaint against the accused. Following the victim’s complaint, a case has been registered against the accused Sahil Khan under various provisions of Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) and the matter is now being probed by the authorities. The accused is reported to be absconding after lodging of the case.

It is worth mentioning here, that cases pertaining to deceiving, exploiting Hindu women by concealing religious identity have been keep coming to the fore from separate regions across the country, indicating a pattern behind surge in such crime.
