BHUBANESWAR: In honour of the eminent thinker Pandit Deendayal Upadhyay and to commemorate his contributions to the nation, the Odisha government will construct a scenic park in Bhubaneswar bearing his name. Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi announced that a life-size statue of Pandit Deendayal will also be installed within the park. This initiative was revealed during the 109th state-level birth anniversary celebration held at Jayadev Bhavan, in the state capital on September 25. The government of Odisha aims to create a beautiful space that pays tribute to Upadhyay’s legacy.

In his address, the Chief Minister highlighted Pandit Deendayal Upadhyay’s significant contributions to the spread of Indian culture, ideas, and innovative economic concepts. He noted that as a fundamental thinker, Upadhyay has made substantial contributions to the country, yet has not received the respect he deserves. “Today is the time to pay due respect and dignity to a thinker of his stature,” the CM stated.

Panditji was a proponent of Integral Humanism. The Chief Minister explained that, in contrast to Communism and Capitalism, Pandit Deendayal presented a unique perspective on humanism.

CM said, we have embraced Atyodaya, the foundational principle of Integral Humanism, as a guiding mantra in our political efforts. Our focus has been on promoting Atyodaya. Pandit Deendayal’s life and work were centered around Antyodaya, and inspired by his ideals, Prime Minister Narendra Modi is committed to inclusive development through the principles of ‘Sabka Saath, Sabka Vikas, Sabka Vishwas, and Sabka Prayas.’ Our government has implemented programs aimed at uplifting the most marginalized members of society. We are advancing public welfare initiatives in line with Pandit Ji’s vision, which prioritizes the collective good over individual interests. The Chief Minister further emphasized that Pandit Ji’s philosophy centers on the welfare of the poor and the inclusion of all individuals in the mainstream. In this context, our government has launched several welfare schemes and programs over the past 100 days.

Law Minister Prithviraj Harichandan, who attended the program as one of the guests, described Pandit Upadhyay as a unique politician and prominent philosopher of India. The minister emphasized that he introduced a new philosophy in the country.
