Forces amped up operations in the Abujhmaad region

It must be noted that the security forces have intensified counter-insurgency operation in the Abujhmaad area of Narayanpur, a hotbed of Maoist insurgency adjacent to the Maharashtra border. The region for long has been considered home to the Maoist’s top rung leadership where the forces have carried out a number of successful operation lately.

This come amidst the Union Home Minister, Amit Shah in a recent visit to Chhattisgarh announced that the time has come to deal a decisive blow to the outlaws and the incumbent union government is working towards eradicating the Maoist insurgency from the country before March 2026.

Notably, continuous operations by the security forces in states like Bihar, Jharkhand and Odisha have resulted in significant success for the forces in containing the spread of Maoist insurgency in the aforesaid states, once badly affected by the insurgency. It is believed that majority of the concentration of armed Maoist cadres is now confined to the state of Chhattisgarh only, which still believed to has a strong presence of armed Maoists,  operating from the dense forest areas, particularly in Bastar division.

Significantly, the union government recently gave node to deployment of 4000 additional troops of Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) in separate Forward Operating Bases (FOBs) which have been established in the violence ridden areas of Bastar in recent few years. The development seen by many as an indication of major counter-operation of security forces against the outlaws in coming months.
