A concerning incident has emerged from Badaun district in Uttar Pradesh, where a group of Muslim children was allegedly coerced into chanting anti-national slogans. According to reports, a group of extremists gathered children, identifiable by their caps, in a secluded forested area and incited them to shout slogans against India.

The video of the incident, which shows some individuals brandishing weapons while the children chant, has since gone viral on social media, leading to widespread outrage, particularly among Hindu organisations. In response, local authorities have registered a case of “sedition” and initiated legal action. Several suspects have been detained in connection with the case.

The incident is the latest in a series of reported conspiracies aimed at disturbing the peace in western Uttar Pradesh through provocative social media posts. The specific case came to light in the Faizganj Behta area of Badaun district, where a video showing Muslim children shouting anti-national slogans quickly spread online, creating a public uproar.

The footage clearly depicts a young man, wearing a cap, leading chants of “Hindustan Murdabad” (Death to India) and urging the children to echo his calls. Preliminary investigations suggest that the video originated from Pipariya village in the same area.

The emergence of the video has prompted several organisations, including the Hindu Jagran Manch, to demand action against those responsible. In response, the Faizganj Behta police have filed a First Information Report (FIR) under Section 197(1) of the Indian Penal Code, which pertains to actions deemed detrimental to national unity.

Speaking to the media, the Superintendent of Police (SP) for the rural area confirmed that the video, although old, had been promptly reviewed, and legal proceedings were underway. “We have detained several suspects as part of our ongoing investigation,” he said.

The viral video is believed to have been filmed in Pipariya, a village within the jurisdiction of the Faizganj Behta police station, which has a significant Muslim population. The footage shows a young man standing nearby, apparently recording the scene on his phone. Inspector Jawaharlal Verma, in charge of the investigation, stated, “We are currently examining the video for authenticity and context. The children seen in the footage may have been participating in some sort of enactment or drama, but this is something our investigation will clarify. Further action will be taken based on the findings.”

Authorities are now working to verify the video’s origins and to understand the motives behind the incident.
