RSS Akhil Bharatiya Samanvay Baithak in Palakkad: The district where more than 35 Swayamsevaks sacrificed their life

Hundreds of Swayamsevaks belonging to the RSS have sacrificed their life for the ideology they cherished lock, stock and barrel. Now, since the RSS Akhil Bharatiya Samanvay Baithak takes place in Palakkad from August 31 to September 2, sacrifices of Swayamsevaks in that region assume unparalleled significance

Palakkad is perhaps second to Kannur district in connection with the total number of ‘balidanis’. According to the available reports, not less than 35 people have sacrificed their lives in Palakkad revenue district alone. The first baladani was Nochippli Ramakrishnan in mid-1969. He was the second Balidani in the state after Vadakkal Ramakrishnan who was killed on April 28, 1969, in Talasserry, Kannur district. Even though most of them were killed by CPM murderers, later on, terrorists belonging to outlawed PFI started to kill RSS karyakartas. Murder of senior RSS karyakarta, Sreenivasan on April 16, 2022 in Palakkad and BJP leader Renjith Sreenivasan on December 19, 2021 in Alappauzha district  are the most shocking among them.

Thrissur, the district bordering Palakkad, is not far behind. The first balidani in the district was Nallenkara Sankaranarayanan in early 1974. About 13 workers were killed there by the Islamic terrorists alone. Not less than 17 people were killed by CPM killers and one by CPI goons.  In the coastal belt of Thrissur, several Swayamsevaks were killed by CPM men in a brutal manner in late 1970s and early 1980s. Some of them were even killed by setting fire to the houses.

Even though the anti-RSS elements have not killed any Sangh or Sangh-inspired workers in Palakkad and Thrissur districts during the last one year, they still maintain animosity towards Sangh people.
