One can’t help but marvel at how carefully things were planned. But then, that’s how the classic playbook has also been at play time and again. A heinous murder gets passed off a suicide but after suspicion brews noticing the brutalities inflicted on the victim who obviously wouldn’t have been the perpetrator of them, time is taken to mislead the purveyors as well as to wipe out evidence so that the culprits get the slimy scope to escape. It has happened way too many times and that’s why the doubts raised in the RG Kar Medical College and Hospital incidents are self explanatory.
As protests against Mamata Banerjee, her administration and Kolkata Police mount, it is interesting to see how members of her party are now crafting justifications to exonerate the CM from shouldering the blame for the initial delay in reporting the incident correctly, of sabotaging the investigation and the vandalising of the crime arena by hoodlums from the neighbouring shanties who form the core base of TMC voters. But most importantly, one must carefully analyse how artfully the main issue of murder has been shifted so that the narrative is now focused on the rape. But why?
As we probe into how a heinous, cold blooded murder has been made to look a crime of passion, it also must be known that the post mortem report (initially was posted online then taken down by Kolkata Police) apparently mentions that the victim was raped after her life was taken. The laws against necrophilia are not very stringent in India. Does that mean that if it can’t be established in court that the young doctor was indeed raped before she was killed, the alleged rapist who is now in police custody would walk free, too? So essentially, no one gets punished for the crime committed! Social media is flooded with the names of the perpetrators as well as the accomplices. There is also a murmur that Kolkata Police has escorted the kingpins out of the country while evidence was being wiped out. In the wake of ongoing CBI investigations, can the parents of the victim and the people of West Bengal indeed hope for justice being delivered?
The TMC playbook will now adhere to blaming the CBI for not being able to solve the mystery while the narrative harps on how ‘Modi’s India is unsafe for women’!
I doubt it. Considering the narrative now is focused on “Women are not safe in India” and “Men will be Men”. Most of the protests holler for punishment for the rapist instead of the murderers. No voice is being raised against the corrupt rackets being run. Mamata Banerjee, after successfully diverting the attention of the country from the incident being a murder to stifle a doctor with integrity to a crime of passion, took out a protest rally to demand justice against rape! Sagarika Ghose, the TMC Rajya Sabha member who had the nerve of calling the Sandeshkhali protests a matter of land dispute, has gone on to equate the gory murder at RG KarMedical College and Hospital to how Vinesh Phogat was treated during the wrestler’s protests! Mahua Moitra, her party colleague, is vehemently discrediting the findings of the forensic team that establishes the occurrence of a gangrape.
Media persons like Rajdeep Sardesai, instead of probing into the abject condition of West Bengal State machinery and administrative failure to handle the investigation, have cast aspersions on the BJP for cornering Mamata Banerjee. Wonder why his questions aren’t directed at the CM for honest answers. Why is his ire tangential? Because, this was never about getting justice or holding Mamata Banerjee accountable for the breakdown of law and order situation in West Bengal ever since she came to power. The TMC playbook will now adhere to blaming the CBI for not being able to solve the mystery while the narrative harps on how ‘Modi’s India is unsafe for women’! No wonder, the barbs directed at PM Narendra Modi are being sharpened. BBC has already conducted a small talk with activist Kavita Krishnan where not once has she complained about women being subjected to brutalities and danger in a State led by a woman Chief Minister. Her jibes and slandering were singularly directed at how Indian women feel insecure under the leadership of Modi. If this is not clever narrative building by the Left cabal, what is?!
I came across a post on Facebook where a lad from Pakistan was expressing his shock at the brutality of the RG Kar Medical College and Hospital case. The entire focus was on the extent of torture by the culprit (they still think it was one man whereas the reality of many men involved in the murder is out) while there wasn’t any mention of the corrupt organ, sex and drugs racket mafia behind this incident. Moreover, there was that harping on the rape instead of the murder to stifle a voice that threatened to out the noxious nexus. Lastly, fingers pointed at the breakdown of the West Bengal state machinery and the involvement of the CM to sabotage the investigation
was conspicuous by its absence. Obviously!
An Indian Muslim, in the comments section, derided the Indian Government for investing too much time on communal politics rather than ensuring safety of women! That comment proved how the narrative has been carefully shifted using the lever of wokeism so that this takes the shape of a crime of passion instead of a carefully planned cold blooded murder. Reason? Misguide the already confused so that they miss the real point here. That it was a hate crime, a killing committed to hide something sinister. That the State is involved in safeguarding the treacherous culprits! This is not about women’s safety in India, Data would reveal women in this country are as safe as in many other countries and in fact maybe more. This is not about ‘Men vs Women’ too, because women interns in the hospital were accomplices in the murder (as per sources). This is about getting the victim justice because she was murdered in cold blood and not on impulse. So, the least we can do is ask the right questions and see through the
devious ploy of derailing the movement with pseudo feminist sloganeering that the Banerjee,
her cronies, the Leftist media and India haters are so arduously trying.
Least we can do in this case is to ask the right questions and see through the devious ploy of derailing the movement with pseudo feminist sloganeering that the Mamata, her cronies, the leftist media and India haters are so arduously trying
It is now that you will find feminists, activists and wokes crawling out of their closets to maliciously defame men as well as India. They will never question the henchwoman running West Bengal, under whose aegis crime, corruption and hooliganism has flourished in my home state. They wouldn’t dare to raise their voices for the tortured women of Sandeshkhali. They will never ask why the Kolkata Police cyber cell is sending intimidating notices to those pointing fingers at the leader. Why didn’t they show as much diligence while investigating the crime? Why have doctors supporting the protests been suddenly transferred! What is the real story behind the RG Kar principal? Most importantly, why did the CM blame her Opposition for orchestrating the vandalising of the crime scene?
Fear affects, drives and impacts humans like no other emotion. Anger settles after some time, while fear lingers on. The political ground in West Bengal unlike most other states has been one of bloody conflict since early 70s. CPI(M) wrested power from Congress after Naxalbari. They ruled the state with an iron fist for almost 3.5 decades and spilled innocent blood.
The current CM crushed CPI(M) on their own turf. Those bloody encounters hardened her. So she knows what exactly to do to retain her chair. West Bengal is unique because behind the veil of the so-called intellectual Bhadralok lies the dark underbelly of street power managed by the minorities Banerjee has appeased for all these years to stay in power. She needs the ‘Queen’s English speaking’ Sagarikas and Mahuas to provide cover fire to these goons. They know the pulse of the Bengali street and are well aware that the usual shenanigans are to be carried on for a few days until the public uproar dies down and people get back to usual business. Now the question is, will West Bengal allow the status quo to be undisturbed? Will they allow the narrative to be hijacked? Will they let the wolves snigger as deep wounds keep festering! Will they let this dagger of dictatorship take the life of yet another innocent daughter of West Bengal?
