The Honourable Governor of Telangana, Sri Jishnudev Varma, said “‘Samskruti’ is the soul of Bharat,” which is a rich blend of both traditional wisdom and science, while etiologically, the Latin-rooted ‘culture’ is not an equivalent of ‘Samskruti’. He made these remarks as chief guest at the ‘Rakhi for Soldiers’ program organized at the AOC Center Shakti Auditorium under the auspices of the Samskruti Foundation, held on August 19.

On this auspicious occasion of Raksha Bandhan, the Honourable Governor said, ‘Samskruti’ binds the people over generations in the society like various flowers attached to the garland, while the thread is the same, and that is why India is invincible. Further, by quoting the phrase ‘Ekam Sat Vipra Bahutha Vadanti’, he said although India has many sociocultural practices, principally everyone follows the one ‘Samskruti’ and that is why India was and will never be defeated.

Retired Lt. General Ramachandra Rao said that it is a great program to pray for the protection of military brothers who protect the country at borders. He congratulated the Samskruti Foundation for organizing such a great program.

He expressed deep grief over the rape and murder of a young doctor in Kolkata and urged everyone to ‘Practice what we preach.’.

Philanthropist and successful businesswoman Smt. Bhagwati Baldev, expressed her happiness and gratitude for getting an opportunity of tying Rakhi to the honourable Governor. Further, she says tying Rakhi’s to the military brothers who protect the country is a source of pride for all the women. Smt. Bhagwati wished the young girls to shape themselves to be more strong and courageous.

Major General Rakesh Manocha upheld Bharat’s cultural ethos, traditions, and practices and also recalled their memories of RakshaBandhan 2023 held at Raj Bhavan. He added that college students came to the program under the auspices of the Samskruti Foundation and tied Raksha to the soldiers, which made it more exciting.

Dr. Umamaheswara Rao, Retd. IAS, Chairman of Samskruti Foundation, mentioned that Bharat is the only country that brought its philosophy into operational in the public domain across the country, which made it great. Dr. Rao apprised the central government of efforts in implementing the NEP2020, which is expected to bring Bharat Centric curriculum into the academic system.

The female students, faculty from various colleges, and women members of the Samskruti Foundation tied the Rakhi’s to the honourable Governor, Army officers, and soldiers by saying a profound message.
