In a development, a twist has emerged in the case of a man who broadcasted his views on Facebook live over the murder of his wife. The accused, Tabarez Pasha, died in Kolar while attempting to escape from the police five days after committing the brutal crime.

Tabarez Pasha had stabbed his wife, Syeda Fazeel Fatima (34), to death on August 2, following a domestic dispute. Fatima had moved back to her mother’s house due to ongoing family issues. On the day of the murder, Tabarez forcibly entered his mother-in-law’s house and stabbed Fatima with a heavy knife in front of her mother. Disturbingly, before and during the act, Tabarez went live on Facebook, narrating the murder as it happened. Following the heinous act, he fled the scene and managed to evade capture for several days.

The incident, which took place in Bengaluru’s Chamarajpet, prompted an intense manhunt. A case was immediately registered at the Chamarajpet Police Station, and multiple police teams were deployed to track down the fugitive. Tabarez, who switched off his mobile phone to avoid being traced, reportedly took refuge in a mosque in Kolar, where he remained hidden for four days.

Yesterday, Tabarez sought shelter at his aunt’s house in Kolar. Acting on a tip-off, a team of Chamarajpet police officers swiftly moved to apprehend him. However, as the police entered the house, Tabarez attempted a desperate escape by jumping from the terrace. He fell from a height of 12 feet and sustained severe injuries. Despite the police’s efforts to transport him to the hospital, Tabarez succumbed to his injuries en route.

The case’s background adds further context to this tragic series of events. Two years prior, Fatima had left Tabarez due to ongoing harassment and had been living with her mother ever since. Despite repeated attempts by Tabarez to reconcile, Fatima had refused to return to him. This refusal ultimately led to the fatal altercation.

Adding to Tabarez’s criminal record, it was revealed that he had previously been involved in a chain snatching case in Cotton Pet in the city. His violent tendencies and criminal past have only heightened the horror surrounding this case.

The incident has sent shockwaves through the community, highlighting issues of domestic violence and the dangerous potential of social media platforms being used to broadcast criminal acts. The police investigation into the case continues, with further details expected to emerge as authorities piece together the entire sequence of events leading up to this tragic conclusion.
