On July 23, 2024, a chair in the name of the BMS founder and economist Dattopant Thengdi was established at the Dr Bhimrao Ambedkar Library in Guru Jambheshwar University of Science and Technology, Hisar, Haryana. On this occasion, a lecture on ‘Shri Dattopant Thengdi and Developed India @ 2047’ was also organised. Dr Indresh Kumar, Kendriye Karyakarini member of the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS), was the keynote speaker. The chief guest was Pawan Kumar, Kshetriye Organisational Secretary of BMS, and the event was presided over by Vice-Chancellor Prof Narsi Ram Bishnoi.

Dr Indresh Kumar, in his address, said that the principles of Dattopant Thengdi would play a significant role in the creation of a new, prosperous, and welfare-oriented Bharat. He said that Thengdiji believed in the principle of ‘nation first and nation always’. “Thengdiji awakened and organised the common people, instilling in them the belief that great results come from resolve”, he said. Citing the principles and plans of Bhagwan Ram, he emphasised that achieving significant goals does not necessarily require higher education, wealth, or power.
He highlighted that, establishing an exploitation-free structure instead of an exploitative system is essential for creating an exploitation-free society and a more equitable society.

He further asserted that the dream of making Bharat a developed nation by 2047 can be realised by adopting the principles of Dattopant Thengdi. The chair established at the university is possibly the first of its kind in the country. Through this chair, researchers will evaluate, analyse, and research the economic, social, and environmental principles of Thengdiji, contributing to nation-building.

Pawan Kumar pointed out that there are approximately 50 crore workers and employees in India, of which only seven per cent work in the organised sector. Workers in other sectors face exploitation, which can be prevented by following Shri Thengdi’s principles. Shri Thengdi believed in the nation’s industrialisation, the labourisation of industries, and the nationalisation of labour.

Vice-Chancellor Prof Narsi Ram Bishnoi noted that this research chair will be highly beneficial to the university. “Researchers will conduct new studies on Thengdiji’s human, social, and national principles. His thoughts, and vision are even more relevant today, influencing the country’s economic and social decisions”, he said.
Dr Indresh Kumar and Pawan Kumar also planted trees in the Guru Jambheshwar Ji Maharaj Religious Study Institute campus. A book exhibition was also organised in the Dr Bhimrao Ambedkar Library to mark this occasion.

Registrar Prof Vinod Chokkar delivered the vote of thanks, emphasising that the research chair will be highly beneficial for researchers, the university, and society.
