“We need to build a resolute society to resolve all kinds of problems, and for this, we must expand our work,” said Shantakka Tai, Pramukh Sanchalika of Rashtra Sevika Samiti, during Akhil Bharatiya Karyakarini and Representatives of the Rashtra Sevika Samiti, which was held from July 12 to 14, 2024 at Reshim Bag, Smriti Mandir, Nagpur.

She further expressed the view that every individual must uphold national interests as the supreme priority and fulfill his/her civic duties.

All Bharatiyas should imbibe their highest ideals and life values and put them into practice to take Bharat at highest level, said Pramukh Karyavahika of the Samiti Sita Gayatri. This meeting saw the participation of 400 representatives from 35 prants.

During this meeting, a plan was made for 300 programmes to commemorate the 300th birth anniversary of Lokamata Ahilyabai Holkar. Through competitions based on her life, reels, theatrical performances, meetings with administrative officials, and interactions with youth hostels, an effort will be made to reach out to the masses about the life and achievements of Lokamata Ahilyabai Holkar.

In the Pratinidhi Sabha, a resolution was passed “Bhartiya Chintan – Base of A Vibrant and Paramount Bharat.”

It is absolutely essential that the dark chapter of the Emergency in India’s democratic history is not repeated in the future. Therefore, a resolution was also passed in this meeting to welcome the decision of the Government of India to observe June 25 as Samvidhan Hatya Diwas.

Resolution

Bhartiya Chintan – Base of A Vibrant and Paramount Bharat

Since ages, the Bharatiya philosophy has influenced the whole world on the basis of its ideal life values. Bharat has taught the entire world the way to lead a blissful and meaningful life for which Bharat was known as Vishwa Guru. During the period of foreign invasions, the Bharatiya cultural, social and political life got shattered. Consequently, the Bhartiya society started losing confidence in its own traditions, values and supremacy. Despite Bharat being pedestalize as the Viswa Guru, it’s still grasping and succumbing in accepting the Westernised ways of life as the ultimate truth. Post-Independence, Bharat is marching ahead of becoming self-reliant in the fields of economics, national security, regional integrity and value-added education of life with global view etc. And with this similar way of progressing ahead, Bharat can become the mentor and guide for the rest of the world.

Bharatiya society must think over it so that Bharat may again show the right path to the world by its magnanimity and all embracing welfare ideals. Akhil Bhartiya Kendriya Karyakarni and Pratinidhi Sabha of Rashtra Sevika Samiti eases the opinion that Bharat can certainly revive its position as a vibrant and powerful Nation by following its social, economic and political developments based on Bhartiya Chintan. The backbone of the Bharatiya society is its formidable family system, its economic self-reliance, its national security, social harmony, feeling of coexistence and all-inclusive mentality. Presently owing to the paucity of these positive values, the natives of Bharat are slowly adopting self-centeredness, ignoring the all-inclusive welfare thoughts. Many types of evil propensities like depression, suicide, drug addiction and ill treatment of women are increasing. Thus the notion of selfishness is over powering patriotism.

Sabha urges the Bharatiya society to usher in once again the lost moral values in the society by following our own supreme ideologies. Our sages have bestowed us with all ideal intellections for family, society and the universe as well. On the basis of which they have been the harbingers of supreme culture and philosophy of life. Today our nation can become the Vishva Guru by reviving, adopting and implementing the Bharatiya value system in the light of Bharatiya Chintan. It implores Bhartiya society to renounce the divisive tendencies based on caste, creed or sect so that our society may tread towards unity and solidarity. We all must incessantly endeavour once again to serve the interests of the nation in place of self-interests. This will make Bharat a vibrant and supreme nation.

Statement

Government’s decision to declare June 25 as Samvidhan Hatya Diwas (Constitution Murder Day) should be welcomed

The black night of June 25, when Indira Gandhi declared Emergency in the middle of the night will never be forgotten by the Bharatiya society. After that day, for the next 20 months, the world’s largest democracy remained under the clutches of a dictatorship, gasping for breath. Just 28 years after gaining Independence from British rule, Bharat had to fight its second Independence struggle. The irony was that this time the battle for freedom was not against any foreign powers but against its own then Prime Minister. The violation of people’s fundamental rights and Freedom of Expression during those 20 months of Emergency was unparalleled—worse than the 100 years of British misrule.

Press censorship was imposed and over 130,000 Satyagrahis, who raised their voice against the Government, were mercilessly imprisoned and subjected to inhumane torture. More than 30,000 citizens were ruthlessly crushed under the draconian MISA (Maintenance of Internal Security Act) law. Every patriotic citizen who raised their voice to save the Constitution was brutally silenced. The self-centered and autocratic regime uprooted many families. Many youths were imprisoned, leaving their release uncertain. The future of the nation’s youth had become gloomy. And the sole reason behind all this was the then Prime Minister Indira Gandhi’s desire to cling to her unconstitutional power. Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) was targeted and persecuted the most during the Emergency period. Even in that extraordinary situation, many volunteers of the Rashtra Sevika Samiti displayed immense patience and carried out public outreach, public education and public awareness work. When democracy was crumbling, it was the RSS and Rashtra Sevika Samiti workers, under the leadership of the Lok Sangharsh Samiti, who stood firm as sentinels of democracy. More than a hundred workers of the RSS, including the then Akhil Bhayatiya Vyavastha Pramukh, Shri Pandurang Kshirsagar, sacrificed their lives in this great yagna. Even if we just consider the size of the Shah Commission, formed to investigate the various “excesses” committed during the Emergency, its six chapters and 530 pages reflect the intensity of violence inflicted on democratic institutions and moral values.

It is absolutely essential that this dark chapter in India’s democratic history is not repeated in the future. Therefore, the Government of India’s decision to declare June 25 as Samvidhan Hatya Diwas is commendable. Akhil Bharatiya Karyakarini and Pratinidhi Sabha of the Rashtra Sevika Samiti appreciates and congratulates the Government of India for this decision.
