In another fateful incident reported from bordering region of Sukma district of Chhattisgarh cadres of the outlawed Maoist outfit have abducted and assaulted four youths of the tribal community, suggest reports floating in the media.
The incident has occurred on Monday, July 8 when four youths hailing from Sikel village under Konta police station limits were abducted by the Maoists. All of them were reportedly paraded before the Jan Adalat (A self-styled court of the outlaws) following which they were thrashed mercilessly.
One of the youth has reported to be succumbed to his injuries while two of them have sustained serious injuries during the assault. The slain youth has been identified as Rajarao Madavi.
According to the details received the Maoists labelled charges of espionage on all of the four abducted youths before assaulting them black and blue in the Jan Adalat held on Tuesday, July 9.
A First Information Report (FIR) has been filed in this regard in the local police station i.e. in Kistaram of Sukma and the police is probing the matter.
Fourth civilian murder in last 10 days
Significantly, this is the overall fourth incident of civilian killing that have been carried out by the Maoists in a span of 10 days and earlier as many as three civilians had also been executed on alleged charges of espionage in back to back targeted killings carried out by the outlaws in separate Maoist affected pockets of the state.
July 6: – A former Maoist identified as Barse Masa was stabbed to death by cadres of the outlawed group on alleged charges of espionage. The incident took place on the intervening night of July 6-7 when Barse was abducted from his house under the jurisdiction of Kistaram police station and subsequently stabbed to death by members of Small Action Team (SAT) of the CPI Maoist.
July 3: – Chaituram Mandavi, a resident of Thulthuli panchayat was brutally beaten to death by Maoists on July 3. Mandavi was Gayta (community head) of his village who was killed on alleged charges of being an informer.
June 30: – A 30-year-old youth was abducted by the members of the banned outfit from Nelangur village of Kohkameta police station limits of Narayanpur district on June 28. His body was later traced near Batumpara Chowk on June 30. The deceased youth was identified as Sannu Usendi.
It is worth mentioning here that the killings of civilians have been a part and parcel of the Maoists strategy to spread fear and to crush the dissenting voices against the violent outfit and over two dozen civilians have already been killed in separate incidents of civilians’ killings linked to Maoist insurgency in this year alone.
