The sudden death of Karishma, a young student at the madrasa in Ajitsingh Nagar on the morning of June 29, has left her family and the community with more questions than answers. Was it truly a case of food poisoning, or was there something more sinister at play?

According to local media reports, 17-year-old Karishma was a student at a madrasa in Vijayawada, managed by Syed Shahid Parvez of the Niswan Educational and Charitable Trust. It was reported that on Friday morning, she was rushed to the hospital, suspected of having food poisoning but unfortunately died before arriving. Additionally, seven other students were also taken to the hospital for treatment.

Food Poisoning: A Convenient Cover-Up?

The madrasa officials were quick to attribute the tragedy to food poisoning, but their actions have raised eyebrows. The madrasa has a total of 60 students, and the officials claim that eight students suffered from food poisoning. If eight students were indeed affected, why were they not taken to the hospital immediately? Despite the authorities’ advice to keep the students under observation, the madrasa officials took them away from the hospital premises immediately, raising suspicions.

Contradictions and Confusion

The investigative authorities’ findings contradict the claims of madrasa officials. While the madrasa insists that the students, including Karishma, suffered from food poisoning on Thursday night, the authorities found no evidence to support this. They discovered that vomiting, supposedly a symptom, only occurred on the 26th. This discrepancy begs the question: what are the madrasa officials hiding?

The Stench of Deception

Adding to the mystery, a staggering 100 kg of rotten meat was found stored in the madrasa’s fridge. This discovery, made by Food Safety Officer Ghaus, raises further concerns. The officials claimed the meat was donated during Bakrid and had turned into rock ice. However, they failed to explain why it was left to rot. The samples have been sent for laboratory testing, but the presence of such a large quantity of spoiled meat only deepens the intrigue.

A Mother’s Agony

Karishma’s mother, Mastan Bee, a resident of Angaloor, Gudiwada, is distraught and demands answers. “My daughter was healthy and had never fallen ill before,” she laments. “They called us in the morning to say she was unwell, but by the time we arrived, she was already gone. Something happened at that madrasa, and we need to know what.”

Awaiting the Truth

The post-mortem report is awaited, as it promises to reveal the truth behind Karishma’s untimely death. Until then, suspicion over the madrasa officials continues to grow.

Speaking to the Organiser, a police official involved in the case stated that they have registered an FIR based on the complaint from Karishma’s mother and are currently investigating the incident. So far, no arrests have been made in connection with the case.
