In a horrific development reported from Kishanganj, Bihar, the district police have arrested as many as two accused for being involved in the gang rape of a girl from Sikkim who had arrived in the district for a tour.

The incident occurred within the town police station limits of Kishanganj, where the victim girl had stayed at a guest house after she missed her train to Sikkim on Wednesday night.

The victim girl, along with her friend, was bound to return to Sikkim; however, they somehow missed their train, following which they contacted one of their local friends, who made arrangements for them in a guest house/lodge.

According to the reports, the girl and her friend were later approached by the accused, who tried forcing themselves on the girls. The accused also tied the male friend of the victims, who had made arrangements for their stay.

It’s been reported that one of the girls somehow managed to escape from the spot and later reached the police station and informed the police about the incident. Upon receiving the information, a police team raided the location and rescued the girl while nabbing both accused. The victim girl was later admitted to the district hospital for treatment.

The accused have been identified as Arhan Akhtar, a resident of Bahadurganj, and Amjad Hussain, a resident of Araria district. It’s been learned that one of the accused, Akhtar, was known to the friend of the victim girl. It’s been further reported that a forensic team from Bhagalpur has also visited the location and collected samples from the spot of the crime.

The accused were also reported to be drunk who forcibly entered the victim’s room and started making sexual advances. Upon being confronted by the male friend of the girls, they reportedly tied him down and then took turns to rape the victim girl.
