On May 18, authorities reported that a Hindu girl was abducted by Mohammad Nizamuddin and his family members in Supaul, Bihar, on May 10. The purpose of the abduction was allegedly to force her into marriage and conversion to Islam.

The incident occurred within the jurisdiction of the Triveniganj police station. On the night of May 14, the police apprehended Nizamuddin’s father, Mohammad Salauddin, who was then interrogated and placed in judicial custody. The police are actively searching for six other suspects who are currently at large.

The victim, a resident of ward number 5 in Mangal Bazar under Triveniganj police station, has been identified as 22-year-old Shruti Raj, also known as Khushi. Her mother, Sita Devi, filed First Information Report number 176/24 at the local police station.

She reported that Shruti has been missing since approximately 7 PM on May 10. After an extensive search, it was revealed that Mohammad Nizamuddin, also known as Gulab, a 26-year-old resident and son of Mohammad Salauddin, had lured her to the Champawati temple in Mangal Bazar under the guise of love and a promise of marriage.

As soon as Shruti arrived at the temple, she was kidnapped. Sita Devi accused Mohammad Nizamuddin’s family members—including his mother Shahjahan, brothers Waseem Akram, Mohammad Azharuddin, Mohammad Ziauddin, and sister Fehmida Nasreen—of orchestrating the abduction with malicious intentions to coerce her daughter into marriage and conversion. The accused family members reside in Ward 4 of the municipal council area.

Triveniganj police station in-charge, Ramsevak Rawat, confirmed that a case has been registered, and Mohammad Salauddin has been detained. The police are conducting raids to apprehend the remaining suspects and are confident that both Mohammad Nizamuddin and the victim will be located soon.
