Muslim dominated Lok Sabha seats have a tradition of high voting percentages. These seats have had unusually high voting percent since 2014 LS elections. Voting in different States and seats is going as usual. There is nothing unexpected as far as voting patterns are concerned. Lok Sabha seats which had high voting percent in previous LS elections have also topped in voting percent this time too.
Dhubri LS Seat in Assam has topped in voting percent in 2014 and 2019 LS elections. This time Dhubri LS seat also topped in voting percentages till now. The voting percent of Dhubri LS seat is increasing election after election. Dhubri seat has voting of 88.36, 90.66 and 92.08 percent in 2014, 2019 and 2024 LS elections. In Assam besides Dhubri, Barpeta and Nowgong are other seats having high Muslim concentration. Barpeta and Nowgong LS seats also maintained their tradition of high voting percentages. Barpeta and Nowgong LS seats have voting is about 85 percent of the case.
Lakshadweep LS seat has also high Muslim concentration and this seat has a voting percentage of nearly 85 percent. This seat also maintained its voting percent this time too. Murshidabad is one of the seats which are known for high Muslim concentration. This seat has a tradition of high voting percent and this has followed this time too. Maldaha Uttar and Maldaha Dakshin LS seats also usually have high voting percentages. This time on these seats the voting percentage has decreased with respect to voting on these seats in previous elections but even remains higher than other seats.
Such high percent of voting also shows that Muslim women also voted massively on these seats. In Assam on both seats of Barpeta and Dhubri, women voted more than men in the percentage term. This shows women awakening to voting. This is a good sign for our society. Women education is key to social awakening and can cure several social evils by educating and awakening women.
