In a shocking incident reported from Uttar Pradesh’s Pilibhit district, a Muslim man identified as Mohammad Riyaz exposed himself to a widow Hindu woman. The woman, Saraswati Devi, visited his shop to get a bed repaired, in turn, Riyaz first complimented her and later flashed his private parts to her on a video call. Angered by this disgusting act, Saraswati lodged a formal complaint against Riyaz.

A First Information Report (FIR number: 127/2024) was registered at the Gajraula police station of the Pilibit district on April 14.

The complainant Saraswati Devi, a widow, in her complaint told the police that, on May 6 around 2 in the evening, she went to Sattar Welding Materials located in the Pooranpur Road area to get her bed fixed. After the inquiry, the shopkeeper, Mohammad Riyaz asked for Saraswati’s contact number, assuring her that he would come and get the bed repaired. Saraswati returned home.

Around 5 in the evening, Riyaz called Saraswati and said to make a video call and show the condition of the bed. When she did the same, he first said, she was looking so pretty and talked strangely. In no time, he flashed his private parts to her. Saraswati hung up the call abusing Riyaz.

Riyaz called Saraswati again and again and flashed his body parts to her, this time, she recorded the call. Since that day, Riyaz has called Saraswati almost every day and mentally harassed her.

Based on Saraswati’s complaint, the police booked Riyaz under IPC sections 354A (sexual harassment) and 509 (insulting modesty of women).

In an official statement issued by the Pilibhit Police on April 15, the Superintendent of Police told the media that Riyaz has been arrested by the police and was presented before the court.
