During an event hosted by the Vishwa Hindu Parishad (VHP) at the Khajrana Ganesh Mandir in Indore, eight Muslims, including women, returned to the Sanatan fold through ‘Ghar Wapsi’. Seeking blessings from the renowned Ganesh Ji in Khajrana, those embracing Sanatan Dharma expressed, “It is a dream fulfilled.” However, this joy turned into a nightmare for Hari Narayan, formerly known as Haider, as Islamists launched an attack on him and pelted stones at his residence.

On the religious event organised on April 27, as many as eight Muslims did Ghar Wapsi. Those returning to the Sanatan fold include Parveen Bee who became Pallavi, Irfan who became Ishwar, Gaffar became Govind, Mohammad Yunus became Mohanlal, Rkaiyya Bee became Rukmani, Haider became Hari Narayan and Tamanna became Tanu.

After undergoing shuddhi, all these individuals performed havan and pooja at the Kahjrana temple. Those who reverted expressed that the lesson of unity taught in Hindu Dharma inspired them to embrace Hinduism.

Haider Sheikh, also referred to as Hari, expressed, “Today, it feels as though I have been reborn.” When questioned about the reason behind this sentiment after many years, he explained that he had been pondering over this matter for quite some time. “Upon informing my relatives,” he continued, “they did not voice any objections. I conveyed my wish to adopt Hindu Dharma, and I received support from some individuals, which ultimately led me to embrace this religion today.”

Parveen B., originally from Mandsaur became Pallavi. Gaffar, now known as Govind, is originally from Mandsaur. He praised Prime Minister Narendra Modi extensively, saying that witnessing the way Prime Minister Narendra Modi is working for the country, he decided to leave the Muslim faith and embrace Sanatan Dharma.

Islamists attacked Hari Narayan

On May 2nd, shortly after Haider converted to Hari Narayan and renounced Islam, unidentified individuals attacked his residence, pelting stones and shattering window panes. Hari accused the assailants of belonging to the Muslim community and expressed that their actions stemmed from resentment towards his departure from Islam.

Furthermore, Hari claimed to have received death threats from the same group, rendering him unable to leave his home safely. He urged the police to take action against the perpetrators.

Indore DCP Abhinav Vishwakarma informed the media that upon receiving a complaint letter from Hari, the police invited him to register an FIR. However, Hari is hesitant to visit the police station due to fear of the attackers.

In his letter to the police, Hari requested protection from individuals associated with the Muslim community.

Additionally, Hari has submitted a notarised document to the magistrate under section 10 of the Madhya Pradesh Freedom of Religion Act, officially reaffirming his allegiance to the Sanatan fold. He profoundly resonates with Sanatan Dharma, referring to his reversion as a new birth.

As of now, no case has been filed. Organiser will provide updates on this matter.
