In yet another tragic incident reported from Maoist infested Bastar division of Chhattisgarh, a 18 year old boy has been killed following he accidently stepped upon an Improvised Explosive Device (IED) planted by the Maoist in Bijapur district.
According to the details, the incident unfolded when the deceased identified as Gadiya, a resident of Patelpara of Mutvendi under the Gangloor police station limits of Bijapur had gone to collect forest produce on Saturday, April 20 when he unknowingly stepped over an IED planted by the Maoist triggering an explosion.

The incident has occurred days after another villager identified as Munna Bharti also got killed in a similar explosion in the Mirtur police station limits of Bjapur district. The fateful incident occurred on April 12 when the deceased was killed following the IED explosion, he was a resident of Dewada village of Bastar district.
It is to be noted that incident pertaining to civilians death due to IED explosions have been keep coming to the fore on regular intervals from Maoist affected regions.
Earlier in a similar incident reported from Narayanpur as many as two civilians were also killed after coming in contact of a pressure IED in November last year. As per the reports, the incident took place at the Amdai hills area in Chotedongarpur poice station area on November 24. The deceased was later identified as Ritesh and Sharvan Gagda.
A number of such cases have also been reported by the Organiser from Maoist affected areas of Jharkhnad as well. In a similar incident reported by the Organiser a 14 year old boy identified as Naara Koda (14), was also killed in an IED explosion.
Naara, a resident of Banglasai tola of Rengrahatu, had gone to the nearby forest to pluck tendu patta leaves when he accidentally stepped over the IED planted by the Maoist triggering a powerful blast in which he got killed.
In another incident an elderly man identified as Jaina Koda, a resident of Regrahattu, was also killed in a similar blast triggered by the Maoist in the Regarhattu region under Tonto police station limits. It was learnt that the blast occurred when Koda, along with his son, had gone to the nearby forest area to collect forest produce.
