Prime Minister Narendra Modi launched a scathing attack on the Leftist parties during a massive election rally held in Kunnamkulam, Thrissur district, on April 15. Addressing a fervent crowd gathered in Alathoor parliamentary constituency, PM Modi accused the Leftists of consistently obstructing progress and development in states and the nation at large, labelling it as their modus operandi.
PM Modi lambasted the ruling Left Democratic Front (LDF), led by Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan, for perpetuating violence and chaos in the state. He criticised the LDF government for obstructing developmental programmes initiated by the central government, including the construction of national highway schemes. According to PM Modi, Kerala, under Leftist rule, is regressing while the rest of the country progresses under BJP leadership.
Highlighting the rampant violence and political murders in Kerala, PM Modi expressed concern over the deteriorating law and order situation. He condemned the protection afforded to those who disrupt religious harmony and emphasised the unsafe environment for children, especially on educational campuses.
PM Modi turned his attention to the Karuvannur Cooperative Bank scam, worth Rs 343 crore, which has affected numerous depositors. He assured the victims that their looted money would be recovered and returned to them, promising full support from the Union government in the matter. PM Modi criticised the state government and the Communist Party of India (CPM) for their alleged involvement in the scam, accusing them of corruption and neglecting the welfare of the people.
Drawing attention to the plight of the victims, PM Modi highlighted the hardships faced by poor families unable to marry off their daughters or afford medical treatment due to the scam. He underscored the tragic consequences of the corruption, including instances of suicide and deprivation among the affected population.
During his speech, PM Modi also mentioned his discussion with Dr TN Sarasu, the BJP/NDA candidate in the Alathoor constituency, regarding the Karuvannur Cooperative Bank scam. He reiterated his commitment to addressing the issue and holding the responsible parties accountable for their actions.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi, during his election rally in Kerala’s Palakkad, took aim at the state’s Chief Minister, alleging a lack of action against perpetrators of the Karuvannur Bank scam. Modi accused the CPM-led government of neglecting to address the issue until central agencies intervened, resulting in the seizure of assets worth Rs 90 crore. He affirmed his government’s commitment to recovering the looted funds, stating that discussions with legal experts were underway for this purpose. Additionally, Modi highlighted another case where Rs 17,800 crore had been confiscated and redistributed to the victims, emphasizing his administration’s determination to pursue justice for those affected by financial fraud.
In a move to bolster healthcare accessibility, PM Modi announced that Kerala’s senior citizens, numbering 73 lakh, had benefited from the Ayushman Bharat scheme. Furthermore, he revealed plans to extend free medical treatment under the scheme to individuals over 70 years old, underscoring the government’s commitment to healthcare inclusivity.
Reflecting on Kerala’s significance, PM Modi hailed Palakkad as the gateway to the state and reminisced about his recent visits to Guruvayoor and Thriprayar temples, likening the latter to Ayodhya in South India.
Taking a swipe at Rahul Gandhi, who contested and won from Wayanad constituency in Kerala, PM Modi urged voters to support BJP/NDA candidates in the Lok Sabha elections. He emphasised the importance of BJP representation to facilitate the implementation of ambitious government programmes.
Accompanied by BJP candidates Suresh Gopi, Dr. T.N. Sarasu, Dr. Abdul Salam, and K.S. Unnikrishnan, PM Modi concluded the rally before proceeding to Thiruvananthapuram to lead a roadshow and address another public gathering.
In a fervent address to a massive rally in Kattakkaad, Attingal constituency, Thiruvananthapuram, Prime Minister Narendra Modi vowed to champion the cause of marginalised sections of society, promising to protect their interests against the neglect of both the ruling Left Democratic Front (LDF) and the opposition United Democratic Front (UDF). Asserting his commitment to uplift the fishermen community, PM Modi declared it as his guarantee to enhance their prestige, emphasising that this commitment forms an integral part of BJP’s manifesto.
PM Modi outlined a bold vision for India’s future, envisioning the country as the third-largest economic power globally within the next five years. Promising to transform India into a nation with top-notch infrastructure, Modi assured direct benefits to farmers through schemes like Kisan Samman Nidhi and pledged to send an Indian to space.
Turning his attention to the railway sector, PM Modi promised significant advancements in Bharatiya Railway, including the introduction of Vande Bharat Sleeper and Chair Car, as well as the expansion of metro networks. He announced plans to bring the bullet train to South India, highlighting BJP’s detailed roadmap for Kerala’s development, particularly in the tourism sector. Initiatives like Eco Tourism Centres and support for women to start home-stays aim to boost rural income and empower local communities.
PM Modi launched a scathing attack on Kerala Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan and his daughter, Veena Vijayan, accusing them of corruption and involvement in scandals like the Karuvannur Bank scam. Promising swift action against the corrupt, Modi assured restitution for victims and vowed to hold accountable those implicated in the gold smuggling case. He condemned the LDF government for failing to address issues like water scarcity and drug trafficking, attributing the state’s woes to the incompetence and corruption of both LDF and UDF.
Sharing the stage with PM Modi were BJP state president K. Surendran, renowned cine star Shobhana, and candidates V. Muralideedharan, Rajeev Chandrasekhar, and G. Krishnakumar from Attingal, Thiruvananthapuram, and Kollam constituencies, respectively. Earlier, PM Modi led a vibrant roadshow in Kattakkada, drawing thousands of enthusiastic supporters.
The rally underscored BJP’s determination to challenge the political status quo in Kerala, promising a new era of governance focused on development, transparency, and accountability. As the Lok Sabha elections approached, PM Modi’s message resonated with voters, offering a compelling vision for a prosperous and vibrant Kerala under BJP leadership.
