Swadeshi Shodh Sansthan (SSS), in collaboration with Bharti College, University of Delhi, successfully organised a one-day seminar titled “Bharat@2047: Inspiration for World Economies” on April 6, 2024. The event brought together esteemed speakers and participants to delve into crucial topics concerning entrepreneurship, rural development, and India’s role in the global economy.

The inaugural session centred on entrepreneurship and was moderated by Prof. Pradeep Chouhan of Jawahar Lal Nehru University, who also serves as the Secretary of SSS. Sri. Satish Kumar Ji, Sah-Sanghatak of SJM, set the tone by enlightening students on the pivotal role of entrepreneurship in enhancing quality of life and income. This was followed by insights from Prof. Raj Nehru, Vice Chancellor of Shri Vishwakarma Skill University, who urged students to embrace entrepreneurship and provided guidance on navigating its challenges. Prof. Saloni Gupta, Principal of Bharti College, emphasized the importance of mindset transformation for entrepreneurial success. Prof. Kavita Sharma, Chairperson of Bharti College, shattered entrepreneurship myths, affirming that age or education level poses no barriers to seizing entrepreneurial opportunities.

The second session, themed “Rural Development Led Economy,” was moderated by Sri Ravi Pokharna Ji of Pehle India Foundation. Kumar Shubham, Director of Sewa International, underscored the necessity of rural cooperation and cultural sensitivity in development endeavours. Shri Anil Sharma Ji, a chartered accountant and office bearer of SJM, shared the inspiring success story of Zoho Corporation, advocating for increased rural investments. Prof. Raj Kumar Mittal, former Vice Chancellor of Chaudhary Bansi Lal University, championed environmentally sustainable agricultural practices as the cornerstone of rural development.

The valedictory session, titled “Swadeshi, Self-Reliance, and Globalisation,” was moderated by Sri. Gagan Kumar Ji of Krishnomics Legal. Sri. Alok Tripathi Ji, Director (Scheme & Skilling) at MEIT, Government of India, elucidated the democratizing potential of blockchain technology and its regulation. Prof. Ashwani Mahajan Ji reminisced about India’s historical economic prowess and outlined opportunities for a resurgence in the current industrial revolution. Sri. Sanjay Sharma Ji, Member of Legislative Assembly, Uttar Pradesh, underscored the government’s commitment to promoting indigenous products and enhancing workforce quality. Dr Chavi Asrani of O P Jindal University explored the role of trade agreements in the Swadeshi movement and the complexities of export-import-led growth.

In a heartfelt vote of thanks, Dr Sarabjit Kaur, Joint Secretary of SSS, expressed profound gratitude to the authorities, faculties, staff, resource persons, and students of Bharti College, along with participants from SSS and SJM, for their invaluable contributions to the seminar’s success.

The “Bharat@2047: Inspiration for World Economies” seminar served as a beacon of insight, illuminating pathways to entrepreneurship, rural development, and India’s resurgence in the global economic landscape. With collaborative efforts and a commitment to innovation, participants left inspired and equipped to embark on transformative journeys towards a prosperous future.
