Earlier a similar event was organized in Australia. The Overseas Friends of the BJP, Australia launched a campaign for members of the diaspora titled Modi for 2024, covering seven prominent cities and significant landmarks in the country. The campaign is aimed at drumming up overseas support for PM Modi and the BJP lead National Democratic Alliance (NDA) going into the Lok Sabha elections in the country.

In the campaign, the respondents across various cities in Australia called themselves as part of the Modi Parivar (PM Modi Family), in a demonstration of overwhelming support for the governance in the country and developmental policies under his leadership.

The Lok Sabha polls will commence from April 19, 2024, and have been organized in seven phases. Nearly 96.8 crore are eligible to cast their votes in the upcoming polls at over 12 lakh stations. The elections of the 543 Lok Sabha seats will be held in seven phases starting April 19, 2024. In the 2019 Lok Sabha Elections, the Bhartiya Janta Party (BJP) won 303 seats whereas in stark contrast the Congress Party won just 52 seats.

PM Modi had visited the US last year in June with a state visit, where he also addressed the Indian diaspora members, He has said that “India and the US were just not forming policies and agreements, but were shaping lives, dreams and destinies.”

“The partnership between India and the United States of America will make the world better in the 21st century. You all play critical role in this partnership,” the PM said while speaking at the Ronald Regan Centre in Washington DC.
