PM Narendra Modi led an impressive and colourful road show in Palakkad Lok Sabha constituency on March 19. It spoke volumes about the influence, charisma, and popularity that the BJP enjoys in Palakkad. And Palakkad,  the first municipality that the BJP ruled in the state, belongs to this Lok Sabha constituency.

Thousands of people lined up on either side of the road to catch a glimpse of their PM. They raised the slogans ‘Bharat Mata Ki Jai’ and ‘Modi Modi’ on top of their voices. PM kept on waving at the enthusiastic crowd. PM’s successful programme emphasised the high hopes the BJP pins on this constituency. It was a powerful endeavour to garner support for the BJP candidates throughout the state in general and Lok Sabha constituencies of Palakkad, Ponnani and Malappuram in particular.

Here are highlights from Palakkad. Kerala’s youth is tired of UDF and LDF. Both have no vision to develop the state. Their interests are only corruption and vote bank politics. It is only BJP which can improve people’s lives. pic.twitter.com/Poq0COI48D

The roadshow commenced by 10.45 hours from Kottamaidan Anchuvilakku, Palakkad Municipality, and culminated at Head Post Office in the town. PM acknowledged the greetings of the people standing on an open-roof vehicle decorated with flowers. PM was flanked by BJP State President K Surendran, C Krishnakumar, and Niveditha Subramanian, BJP candidates in  Palakkad and Ponnani constituencies, respectively. The roadshow covered a one-kilometre route. Thousands of people braved the red hot sun to greet the Prime Minister. They waved fresh flowers, garlands, BJP flags, and images of the PM from both sides of the road. Women were seen carrying their babies. Modiji, clad in a saffron cap, reciprocated the passionate reception by keeping on showering flowers on the crowd.

The enthusiastic crowd weathered the scorching heat with all their smiles. Thousands of families were determined to have a glance at the world leader of their day.

The roadshow took about thirty minutes to cover one kilometre. After completing it, the PM flew to Salem, Tamil Nadu, to address a mammoth BJP rally.

Palakkad is one of the constituencies which Kerala BJP hopes to win. The sterling success of the PM’s Palakkad roadshow raises that hope to the silver skies.
