Kerala unit of Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh has entered a new era. Now, the organisation has been divided into two Pranths (provinces) – Uttar Kerala and Dakshin Kerala. Dakshin Kerala consists of seven revenue districts – Ernakulam, Alappuzha, Kottayam, Idukki, Pathanamthitta, Kollam and Thiruvananthapuram. They are subdivided into 20 Sangh Zillas and 6 Vibhags.

Uttar Kerala consists of seven revenue districts: Thrissur, Palakkad, Malappuram, Kozhikkode, Wayanad, Kannur, and Kasaragod. They are subdivided into 17 Sangh Zillas and 5 Vibhags

S Sudarshanan, present Pranth Pracharak of ‘undivided’ Kerala Pranth, is selected as the Pranth Pracharak of Dakshin Kerala. A Vinod, present Sah Pranth Pracharak of ‘undivided’ Kerala Pranth, takes over as the Pranth Pracharak of Uttar Kerala.

Prof M S Ramesan and T V Prasadbabu will take over as Dakshin Kerala Pranth Sanghchalak and Pranth Karyavah, respectively. K B Sreekumar and K Prashanth will shoulder the responsibility of Sah Pranth Karyavah and Sah Pranth Pracharak, respectively.

Adv K K Balaram and P N Eashwaran are the Uttar Kerala Pranth Sanghchalak and Pranth Karyavah, respectively. P P Sureshbabu and V Aneesh are the Sah Pranth Karyavah and Sah Pranth Pracharak, respectively.

M Radhakrishnan, currently the Dakshin Kshetriya Sah Karyavah and MD of Janmabhumi Malayalam daily, is the new Kshetriya Karyavah. K P Radhakrishnan, present Sah Pranth Karyavah of ‘undivided’ Kerala Pranth will take over as the Boudhik Pramukh for both Dakshin and Uttar Kerala Pranths.

Senthilkumar, the present Kshetriya Pracharak, has been selected as the Akhil Bharatiya Saha Seva Pramukh. Swayamsevaks of Kerala are glad to hear that O K Mohanan, from Wayanad district, has been selected as the Akhil Bharatiya Sah Sareerik Pramukh. He has been the Kshetriya Pracharak Pramukh until now.

Dakshin Kshetra consists of Uttar Kerala Pranth, Dakshin Kerala Pranth, Uttar Tamil Nadu Pranth and Dakshin Tamil Nadu Pranth.

Kerala was the part of Tamil Nadu Pranth until 1964. Legendary Pranth Pracharak K Bhaskar Rao was the first Pranth Pracharak of ‘undivided’ Kerala. Until 1983, he shouldered that responsibility. Kerala Pranth scaled new heights of growth under his able leadership. In 1983, late Ranga Hariiji took over as Pranth Pracharak. In 1994, Ranga Hariji was selected as Akhil Bharatiya Boudhic Pramukh and S Sethumadhavan took over from him. Later on, A Gopalakrishnan, the present national convener of Seema Jagaran Manch, took over from him. Then came P R Sasidharan and Harikrishnakumar as the Pranth Pracharaks. A few years ago, S. Sudarshan took over from Harikrishnakumar. Now, Harikrishnakumar takes over as the Keshtriya Pracharak.

Sangh leadership forms new Pranths when they realise that the number of sakhas increases and crosses a certain level.
