POs interact with customers and resolve their queries, supervise the ongoings of the branch, engage in PR activities, process loans, handle the daily transactions of customers, and bring in new business to their branch. To be eligible for the post of a PO, candidates must be a graduate between the ages of 20 and 30 years, and be proficient in using computers.

The first two stages of the IBPS PO exam – the Preliminaries and the Mains – are in the form of written examinations, both conducted online. Both exams give negative marking of 0.25 mark for each wrong answer.

After qualifying for the written exams, selected candidates are called for an interview, which is the final stage of the process. The interview round is for a total of 100 marks.
