An Indian origin businessman’s house in Canada was targeted by an alleged member of the fugitive gang of Goldy Brar, who opened multiple rounds of fire at the residence. A video of the incident which reportedly occurred three days ago, showing a masked person shooting at the house has surfaced now. Sources claim that Goldy Brar gang was behind the firing.

However, the gang has not claimed responsibility for the attack. Goldy Brar, alias Satinderjeet Singh, who is associated with the Lawrence Bishnoi gang, is wanted gangster in both India as well as Canada. Sources claim the shootouts involving the Goldy Brar Gang and its rivals for extortion have become a common incident in Canada.

He is also the alleged mastermind behind the murder of Punjabi singer Sidhu Moosewala, who was shot dead in Punjab’s Mansa in May 2022. He is currently believed to be residing in Brampton, Canada and associated with the Babbar Khalsa International (BKI).

In January 2024, the government of India declared Brar as a terrorist under the Unlawful Activities Prevention Act (UAPA). The Government of India’s decision came after a Red Corner Notice by Interpol indicating global agreement on the threat he poses and a non bailable warrant issued against him on December 12, 2022.

The notification released by the Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA) stated that Goldy Brar has been linked to several crimes including murder, extortion, and making threatening phone calls. He is also charged with deploying drones to smuggle guns and ammunition into India. In addition, he is suspected of several target killings which have disturbed national peace and communal harmony, particularly in Punjab area.
