In anticipation of the state assembly elections in Andhra Pradesh, the Telugu Desam Party (TDP) and Janasena alliance have released the first list of candidates ahead of the upcoming State Assembly polls

TDP-Janasene releases first list of candidates for upcoming State Assemly Elections

The alliance of Telugu Desam and Janasena parties has announced its first list of candidates for the state assembly elections to be held within 100 days.

In the Telugu Desam-Jana Sena alliance, Pawan Kalyan’s party was allotted 24 assembly and 3 parliamentary constituencies. Currently, Telugu Desam has announced its candidates for 94 and Jana Sena for 5 seats. In the 76 remain seats, 19 were allocated to Janasena. By this, there are 57 seats which are yet to be declared. Out of 25 parliamentary constituencies, 3 have been allocated to Jana Sena and there are still 22 seats.

Top leaders like Chandrababu Naidu will contest from Kuppam, Nara Lokesh from Mangalagiri, Balakrishna from Hindupuram and party state president Achchennaidu from Tekkali.

Kolusu Parthasarathy, Yarlagadda Venkatarao, Kotamreddy Sridhar Reddy got seats among those who joined Telugu Desam from the ruling YSRCP. Kanna Lakshminarayana , who joined the TDP from the BJP, and Kolikapudi Srinivas, who came to light through the Amaravati movement, got tickets.

This time, senior leaders vacated their seats instead of their successors. Ashok Gajapathiraju’s daughter Aditi in Vizianagaram, Yanamala Ramakrishna’s daughter Divya in Tuni constituency, Adi Reddy Vasu, husband of Adi Reddy Bhavani who won the last election in Rajahmundry City, and Varla Kumararaja, son of Varla Ramaiah, who previously missed the Rajya Sabha seat at the last minute, got seats this time.

The Jana Sena party has announced only 5 candidates for the 24 seats allotted to it. The names are like Lokam Madhavi from Nellimarla, Konatala Ramakrishna from Anakapalli, Bathula Balaramakrishna from Rajanagaram, Pantham Nanaji from Kakinada Rural and Nadendla Manohar from Tenali have been announced. It is noteworthy that the party president Pawan Kalyan has not yet revealed from which seats his brother Nagababu will contest.
