Indian Federation of Green Energy (IFGE), a dedicated trade body promoting green energy since 2014, has organised the 4th India Green Energy Awards in New Delhi on February 21, 2024.

The Ministry of New and Renewable Energy, Ministry of Road Transport and Highways, Mission LiFE, Ministry of Environment, Forest and Climate Change, and Government of India have supported the 4th India Green Energy Awards.

Nitin Gadkari, Minister for Road Transport and Highways, Government of India, graced the occasion as Chief Guest, and Shri Rameswar Teli, Hon’ble Minister of State Petroleum and Natural Gas & Labor and Employment, Government of India, was the Guest of Honour.

Nitin Gadkari congratulated the awardees in the renewable energy sector for their exceptional performance and significant contributions to sustainable development and India’s overall progress.

He stressed proven technology, economic viability, availability of raw materials, and marketability of the finished product. Nitin Gadkari drew focus on 3cs Cooperation, Communication and Coordination. He also mentioned that research and cost competitiveness have to be the key factor. He appraised Pramod Chaudhuri, President, IFGE and Executive Chairman, Praj Industries Limited, for his contribution to biofuels and sustainable aviation fuel sector.

Nitin Gadkari said that I have suggested that 20 per cent of ethanol should be blended in the diesel and petrol pipeline going from Numaligarh to Bangladesh so that our ethanol can be exported and the prices of petrol and diesel in Bangladesh can also be reduced. Ethanol is made from bamboo in Assam, and North East. If this happens, then the people there will get employment in large numbers. I am happy that due to the damage caused to the environment by stubble, we are now making biogas from stubble, and a large number of such projects are being set up. Rameswar Teli has mentioned the importance of Biofuels in India and stressed the scope of Compressed Biogas (CBG) in India and also highlighted the benefits of CBG.
