“UP se, 80 out of 80”: Rajnath Singh radiates optimism for BJP’s electoral triumph in upcoming Lok Sabha 2024 polls

Defence Minister Rajnath Singh has expressed unwavering confidence in the Bharatiya Janata Party's (BJP) electoral prospects in Uttar Pradesh with his slogan "UP se, 80 out of 80". This declaration underscores the party's determination and optimism as it gears up for the upcoming elections, highlighting its strong resolve to secure victory in all 80 constituencies of the State

Union Defence Minister Rajnath Singh on February 20 expressed his confidence in the National Democratic Alliance’s (NDA) victory in the upcoming Lok Sabha elections in Uttar Pradesh and said, “UP se, 80 out of 80.” He said this while speaking to reporters after inspecting the Lucknow Ring Road from the Sultan Road Side.

During his interaction, he informed that the Lucknow Ring Road would be completed by February 28 and added that the inauguration of the 104-kilometer Lucknow Ring Road would be done in the first week of March.

“The people involved in the construction have said that it would be completed by February 28. In the first week of March, the inauguration of the 104-kilometer Lucknow Ring Road will be done. The people of Lucknow will get relief from the traffic problem,” he said.

“The 104-kilometer-long Lucknow Ring Road has been our dream project. It is an 8-lane road,” he said.

“In addition to the 13 flyovers that have already been constructed there, we plan to initiate construction work on at least 10 more flyovers that have already been approved,” he added.

The Defence Minister said that developmental work should not be associated with elections and added that a representative must address their area’s issues and consistently perform their responsibilities.

“Developmental activities should never be linked with elections. I believe that it is the responsibility of every representative to stay alert towards solving the problems of the area they represent and to consistently fulfil their duties. As a representative, I have tried to do everything within my capacity,” he said.

Even as Rajnath Singh and the BJP strike a confident pose, the Opposition INDI Alliance bloc is searching for answers as the Congress and the Samajwadi Party have failed to strike up an alliance in the State.

Sources say that the alliance is stuck due to a disagreement on two seats that the Congress wishes to contest, but the SP is unwilling to let go. Samajwadi Party Chief Akhilesh Yadav reiterated that he would only join Rahul Gandhi’s Bharat Jodo Nyay Yatra once the agreement on seat sharing can be reached.
