Jammu & Kashmir Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha condemned the terror attack in Srinagar on February 7, which resulted in the killing of one person.
In a post on X, Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha said, “I am deeply shocked and saddened by the heinous terror attack in Srinagar on Amritpal and Rohit from Amritsar. I condemn in strongest terms this brutal act, which has snuffed out an innocent life. In this hour of grief, I convey my heartfelt condolences to the bereaved family.”

Stating that no efforts will be spared to bring the perpetrators to justice, Manoj Sinha said, “Praying for the speedy recovery of the injured Rohit. A team of doctors is doing their best to take care of him. Directed the Civil and Police administration to ensure all assistance to the families.”
Terrorists opened fire at the Shaheed Gunj area in Srinagar on February 7 evening, leaving one person dead and another injured. Both the deceased and the injured victim hailed from Punjab’s Amritsar, officials said.
Meanwhile, Jammu & Kashmir Police said that the Shaheed Gunj area in Srinagar has been cordoned off.
“Update #Terrorists fired upon 2 persons identified as Amritpal Singh and Rohit, R/O Amritsar at Shaheed Gunj Sgr. In this #terror incident, Amritpal Singh succumbed to his injuries while Rohit has been shifted to Hospital for treatment. Area cordoned off. Details shall follow,” J&K police said in a post on X after the incident.

Former Jammu & Kashmir Chief Minister Ghulam Nabi Azad expressed grief and condemnation over the killing of Amritpal Singh and also prayed for the recovery of the injured victim.
