Guwahati: In a momentous ceremony, the Union Minister of Ports, Shipping & Waterways and Ayush, Sarbananda Sonowal, laid the foundation stone for ‘Ayush Diksha,’ a groundbreaking centre aimed at shaping the future of Ayush professionals. The event unfolded within the premises of the Central Ayurveda Research Institute in Bhubaneswar, signalling a paradigm shift in the integration of traditional medicine into the nation’s healthcare system.

The Ayush Diksha Centre stands as a transformative beacon in India’s healthcare landscape. The centre marks a significant shift towards integrating traditional Ayush practices with modern healthcare. Positioned as a catalyst for change, the Ayush Diksha Centre is poised to empower professionals, enhance skills, and contribute to the robust delivery of patient care services, ushering in a new era of holistic well-being for the people of India.

Union Minister Sarbananda Sonowal, addressing the gathering, underscored the Ayush movement’s growing prominence, attributing it to the dynamic leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi. He expressed gratitude for Modi’s tireless efforts to harness India’s rich heritage of traditional medicine, steering the country toward an integrated healthcare approach that combines Ayush and modern medicine. The Ayush Diksha centre, inaugurated on this auspicious day, aims to empower Ayush professionals, enabling them to enhance their skills and contribute to a robust patient care delivery system.

“This centre will act as a catalyst for the powerful Ayush movement, facilitating its global journey towards promoting a healthier and happier life experience,” declared Minister Sonowal.

The Ayush Diksha institution will specialise in training programs for Ayush professionals, with a particular focus on Ayurveda. Collaborating with nationally acclaimed institutes, it aims to boost capacity development, strengthen human resources, and foster research and development. The centre, with a budget of ₹30 crores, will boast state-of-the-art facilities, including auditoriums, modern rooms, VIP suites, a natural library, discussion rooms, a modular kitchen, and a dining lounge.

Minister Sonowal reiterated, “Under Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s leadership, our Ayurvedic heritage has regained attention that was lacking in earlier administrations. The resurgent Ayush movement is now a pioneer in rejuvenating traditional medicine worldwide, mirroring the transformative impact of Yoga on global wellness.”

The event, graced by MP (Lok Sabha) for Bhubaneswar, Aparajita Sarangi, and Director General of CCRAS, Prof Vaidya Rabinarayan Acharya, marked a significant step toward advancing Ayurvedic research on scientific lines. The CARI, Bhubaneswar, a unit under the Central Council for Research in Ayurvedic Sciences, operates as an autonomous body under the Ministry of Ayush, Government of India.

As the Ayush Diksha centre unfolds its vision, it aligns seamlessly with Prime Minister Modi’s broader vision of a Swastha Bharat, emphasising an integrated medicinal approach. This initiative holds the promise of not only healing ailments but also enriching the quality of life for the people of India, fostering physical and mental well-being.

The Ayush Diksha centre emerges as a beacon of transformative healthcare, symbolising the revival and evolution of India’s traditional medicinal practices. Its impact is poised to resonate not only within the borders of the nation but also on the global stage, as it pioneers the way for a healthier and more harmonious world.
