In a significant announcement, Sri Sri Jagadguru Shankaracharya Mahasamsthanam Dakshinamnaya Sri Sharada Peetham, Sringeri, has debunked false information circulating on social media regarding the pran-pratishtha (consecration ceremony) of the Sri Ram Janmabhoomi Mandir in Ayodhya. The official statement, posted on January 8, 2024, by Sringeri Math’s official handle on their website (www.sringeri.net) and social media platforms, addresses the misleading claims made by certain ill-wishers of the Hindu Dharma.

The Sringeri Math joyfully announced that the pran-pratishtha for the newly constructed mandir dedicated to Bhagawan Sri Rama in Ayodhya is scheduled to take place on Pushya Shukla Dwadashi, which falls on January 22, 2024. This event marks the culmination of a five-century-long struggle and is a momentous occasion for all Astikas, followers of the Hindu faith.

The official statement emphasises the harmony and enthusiasm with which Astikas have been preparing for this sacred ceremony. However, it sheds light on a false post circulating on social media platforms that wrongly attributes statements to the Sringeri Shankaracharya, His Holiness Paramapujya Jagadguru Shankaracharya Sri Sri Bharati Tirtha Mahaswamiji. The post, using the name of “www.dainikjagran.com,” claims that the Sringeri Shankaracharya expressed displeasure over the pran-pratishtha, causing confusion among the devotees.

The Sringeri Math categorically denies any such communication from the Sringeri Shankaracharya regarding disapproval of the Ayodhya mandir’s pran-prathishtha. The Math labels the circulating information as false propaganda by individuals with ill intentions toward the Hindu Dharma. Astikas are earnestly urged to dismiss such misleading claims and rely only on information officially released by Sringeri Sharada Peetham through its authorised channels.

The statement reminds the followers that, on the occasion of Deepavali (November 12, 2023), the “sharadapeetham” YouTube channel of the Peetham had broadcasted a message from the Sringeri Jagadguru. In this message, the Jagadguru had encouraged all Astikas to engage in the chanting of the Rama Taraka Mahamantra, emphasising the significance of the upcoming pran-pratishtha in Ayodhya. The Math highlights that, in response to this call, Astikas have been actively participating in the chanting of the Mahamantra.

The Sringeri Shankaracharya, in his blessings, has urged every Astika to wholeheartedly participate in this sacred and rare pran-pratishtha, emphasising the opportunity to receive the boundless grace of Bhagawan Sri Ram. The statement reinforces the unity and devotion among Astikas and their commitment to contributing positively to the historic event in Ayodhya.

The CEO & Administrator of Sringeri Math has signed the announcement, further validating its authenticity and urging all devotees to stay informed through the official channels of Sringeri Sharada Peetham. The Math reassures Astikas that any communication related to their spiritual leader, the Sringeri Shankaracharya, will only be officially released through the Math’s website (www.sringeri.net) and its official social media platforms.

This clarification from Sringeri Sharada Peetham aims to dispel any misinformation and ensure that devotees can approach the pran-pratishtha ceremony in Ayodhya with clarity, devotion, and a united spirit.
