As many as eight families who were earlier converted to Christianity have been reverted to Sanatan Dharma in a Gherwapasi ceremony held in Patthalgaon of Jashpur region in Chhattisgarh on Friday, December 29.

According to the reports, members of Arya Samaj, Dharm Jagran and Kilkileshwar Dham Nyas were among the attendees where the Bhartiya Janata Party (BJP) State Secretary, Prabal Pratap Judev welcomed the returnees by washing their feet in a ceremony organized in Kilkileshwar Dham, a revered Ashram in Pathalgaon of Chhattisgarh.

Taking to the X (Formerly known as twitter), Prabal Judev while sharing a few snapshots of the ceremony held, wrote “ Dharmantaran Rashtrantan ka Mool hai” ( Conversion leads to change of Country). With the blessing of Kilkeleshwar Baba, a befitting reply has been given to the anti-nationals as Gherwapasi of eight families have been done in the sacred land of Kilkileshwar Dham of Pathalgaon.

“I am determined and will continue to do Gherwapasi to protect the Sanatan Dharma all my life”, said Judev, a scion of Jashpur royal family while thanking the organisers of the ceremony.

101 families reverted to Sanatan

It is to be noted that the ceremony in Pathalgaon has been organised days after the members of the Dharm Sena held another similar ceremony in Korba of Chhattisgarh where heads of the communities who made a comeback to the Sanatan fold were honored.

Members of 101 families had officially re-instated into the Sanatan fold after they were welcomed by the workers of the Dharm Sena, Vishwa Hindu Parishad (VHP), and Arya Samaj in a Samaj Pramukh Samman Sammelan organised in Korba district of Chhattisgarh on Sunday, December 24.

Earlier, while speaking with the Organiser exclusively, a senior members of the Dharma Sena had informed that “Several families who had earlier converted to Christianity under the influence of certain individuals and groups have been reverted back to Sanatan and the programme was organised to officially re-instate them into their bonafide religion.”

The programme which was attended by a number of heads of the respective communities who were honored by the representatives of Dharm Sena was concluded with a resolve to stop conversion and to welcome those who are willing to return to the Sanatan Dharma.

It is worth mentioning here, that a number of reports pertaining to illegal conversion has been keep coming to the fore from separate regions of Chhattisgarh since long, leading to the demand of a stringent anti-conversion law by various organisations.

Additionally, demands pertaining to a nationwide de-listing exercise was also among the most debated issue in the run up to the state assembly elections in which the BJP registered a resounding victory in tribal (janjati/ Vanvasi) dominated regions.

Recently after assuming charge both Chief Minister, Vishnu deo Sai and Deputy Chief Minister, Arun Sao have hinted that the incumbent government is mulling over an anti-conversion law to stop the growing menace of conversion in the Janjati dominated regions.
