In a significant address at the Multilingual Literary Meet organised by Sikha ‘O’ Anusandhan University (SOA) in Bhubaneswar, Odisha, Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) Sarsanghchalak, Dr Mohan Bhagwat, declared India as the epicentre of world peace. He highlighted the pivotal role that Bharat plays on the global stage, serving as a source of able leadership and spiritual wisdom for nations around the world.

Dr. Mohan Bhagwat emphasised that India possesses all the essential ingredients and resources required for fostering world peace. The country, he noted, stands as a shining example of immense transformation and progress. However, he also underscored the need for further advancement, urging the nation to leverage its valuable resources of national integrity and prosperity with a forward-looking perspective.

Redefining literature from a socio-economic standpoint, Dr Mohan Bhagwat articulated the idea that a spiritual human environment is instrumental in bringing about social change. He asserted that literature, acting as a mirror of society, becomes a catalyst for a sea change phenomenon. Through its portrayal of minute social phenomena and ideologies, literature creates opinion leaders who can unite the masses to achieve national goals. Whether one is an accomplished litterateur or a devoted follower of literary critics, the understanding of their creations transcends knowledge, wit, and formal academics.

Delving into the historical significance of literature, Dr Mohan Bhagwat highlighted its role in the pre-independence era. He credited literature for playing a key role in the struggle against colonial rule, particularly against the British, who, he claimed, were ignorant of true religion. According to Dr Mohan Bhagwat, Hindu culture and the Indian way of pious living can pave the way for true religion and eternal peace. True religion, he argued, is an intrinsic power within mankind that fosters a unique and eternal bond among individuals.

In a broader context, Dr Mohan Bhagwat asserted that nations around the world look to India for guidance and inspiration. The country’s visionaries and spiritual thinkers provide a valuable source of leadership and patronage, contributing to the global pursuit of peace.

The Multilingual Literary Meet served as a platform for intellectuals and literary enthusiasts to engage in discussions about the role of literature in societal transformation. Dr Mohan Bhagwat’s address resonated with the audience, emphasising the profound impact literature can have on shaping perspectives and fostering unity in pursuit of common goals.

As India continues to evolve on the world stage, Dr Mohan Bhagwat’s words serve as a reminder of the nation’s potential to lead not only in economic and political spheres but also as a beacon of spiritual wisdom and cultural richness for the world at large.
