Vijay Diwas: Shri Ram Janmabhoomi movement ignites cultural renaissance for Bharat’s revival

In the wake of India's independence in 1947, a transformative movement known as the Bhagwan Sri Ram movement emerged, seeking to break the cultural, economic, and social shackles imposed by historical invasions and colonial influence. Advocates assert that the movement serves as a vital catalyst to awaken a renewed sense of unity among Hindus and propel the nation towards greatness in all facets of life

Even after independence in 1947, the Bharatiyas, particularly Hindus, remained in a deep slumber as a result of the “colonial mindset” imparted by Britishers. This has had a negative social, cultural, and economic impact on Hindus. Some kind of spark was really needed to unite Hindus so that this nation might once again move forward in the right manner and become great in all fields of life. The cultural, theological, social, and economic devastation caused by invaders such as the Mughals and Nizams created a weak and submissive attitude among Hindus. Many religious structures and temples were destroyed, and many temples were converted into Masjids.

What does the name “Bhagwan Shri Ram” mean?
The name “Ram” is a universal phenomena that offers a pleasant and vibrant energy. That is why millions of Indonesian Muslims and people all over the world revere and follow Bhagwan Shri Ram and his principles as a king, husband, friend, father, brother, and Prabhu.

The akshara ‘Ra’ symbolises light or fire. This is why the Sun was referred to as ‘Ra’ in many ancient cultures. This is not only the light of energy, but also the light of wisdom and enlightenment. The akshara ‘Ma’ symbolizes the ‘Mind’ (manas). It also includes the self (atma) and ‘Man.’ ‘RA MA’ is thus the’man seeking/moving towards the light, or enlightenment; the atma towards the paramatma.

Why is it crucial to rebuild the temple?
When invaders came to our country, they tried to destroy the Hindu community by destroying monasteries and temples. Examples include Babar demolishing the temple of Sri Ram Janmabhoomi in Ayodhya and building a mosque, and Aurangzeb destroying Kashi Vishwanath and the temple in Mathura. The constructions that the Muslim invaders built in place of these temples are extremely offensive to us.

In an address in Delhi in 1960, well-known historian Arnold Toyanbee stated, “You have preserved the mosques built by Aurangzeb in your country, despite great humiliation.” When Russia annexed Poland in the early nineteenth century, they built a Russian Orthodox Church in the heart of Warsaw to commemorate their victory. When Poland gained independence after World War I, the first thing it did was demolish the Russian-built church and eliminate the emblem of Russian dominance, because the building served as a continuous reminder to Poles of their humiliation.

In fact, Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj had already begun this work. Maharaja restored temples in Goa, Andhra Pradesh, and Tamil Nadu, including Saptakoteshwar in Goa and Srisailam in Andhra Pradesh.
“If you insult our self-respect by demolishing our temples, we will rebuild them stubbornly,” said Shivaji Maharaj to Muslims, and his acts sent a message to the aggressors.

Despite knowing the facts, the Ram Janmabhoomi temple matter was taken to court. The fury directed toward Ayodhya Janmbhoomi by the Congress, communists, and many Muslim leaders resulted in a court case. Someone had to wake up the Hindus, not to fight against any religion, but to transcend the slavery mentality and fight for the truth. The Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh, Vishwa Hindu Parishad, and numerous Hindu religious and spiritual gurus launched the movement to awaken the people against the harsh rules of the mughals at that time and to unify in order to make Bharat powerful again in all aspects.

Many Ram Bhakts lost their lives during the movement, and many have made up their minds and dedicated their lives for the mission of the Bhagwan Shri Ram temple. The protracted movement that awoke the majority Hindus changed the thinking and aided in the formation of the Modi administration with a majority in 2014. The Modi government’s relentless and wholehearted efforts, as well as the Supreme Court’s order, opened the path for the Ram Janmabhoomi Mandir in Ayodhya.

Even when some industrialists expressed interest in funding the Mandir’s construction, the Mandir Trust, RSS, and VHP decided to make it a public campaign and began collecting donations in a methodical manner, resulting in the gathering of an unprecedented large amount. Even the most marginalized individuals gave a modest amount to their beloved Bhagwan shri Ram, with tears in their eyes, to be a part of this historic event for Bharat Varsh.
This movement is not only unifying Hindus, but it is also propelling us forward on the path of cultural, socioeconomic, and global expansion, with Bharat gathering momentum to lead the world for the welfare of all.

The incredible occurrence of Bhagwan Shri Ram’s arrival in Ayodhya after 500 years when savage invader Babar destroyed the temple and erected the mosque, will be remembered in history on January 22, 2024. The positive and lively spirit that has been pouring since the court order will be bolstered further as the Mandir Trust, VHP, and RSS have organised a major distribution of revered rice “Akshata” to every home in Bharat. This act is just to awaken as Hindus and unify in channeling energy for our magnificent nation’s “Param Vaibhavam.”
Let us put an effort for Hindu unity to make the nation and the world great again and peaceful.
