Maharashtra: “India’s research momentum set to soar,” says RSS Sarsanghchalak Dr Mohan Bhagwat

In a recent address at the inauguration of the next-generation sequencing facilities at the Central India Institute of Medical Science (CIIMS) in Nagpur, Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) Sarsanghchalak Dr Mohan Bhagwat expressed confidence in India’s burgeoning research capabilities, asserting that the country is gaining momentum and will soon overcome challenges with its rich knowledge base.

Speaking to a gathering of medical researchers, doctors, and scientists, Bhagwat highlighted India’s historical prowess in various fields, stating that the nation was at the forefront of science and other disciplines before facing setbacks due to invasions and periods of slavery. He emphasised the resilience of the Indian spirit, noting that the country has steadily progressed in the last two decades, reclaiming its position as a global knowledge hub.

Addressing the audience’s concerns about obtaining funds and research-friendly policies for the charitable trust hospital, Bhagwat acknowledged the importance of government support. He acknowledged that while India has made significant strides, the government and administration are struggling to keep pace with the rapid advancements in science and technology. Bhagwat urged the need for the government to encourage and provide timely policies to match the speed of progress in the scientific community.

“The country has gained very good momentum today, and the world is learning from us in many sectors. There are many innovators in the new generation today,” Bhagwat remarked. He acknowledged the challenges faced by those in the field of science and assured them that he would convey their requests to the relevant authorities.

Expressing optimism about the future, Bhagwat stated, “I want to tell you with a guarantee that very soon a time will come in India that all these complaints will not be there.” He attributed the current challenges to the time it takes for policies and support to reach the grassroots level, assuring that these aspects would soon be on the right track.

While acknowledging the difficulties faced by scientists and medical researchers, Bhagwat highlighted the importance of time in effecting change. He emphasised that the government shares the goal of progressing the nation and assured the audience that their demands would be communicated to the relevant authorities.

“The government and administration are finding it a little tough to match the speed at which society is moving and people working in the field of science are moving. The government has to encourage them and give them policies. It is taking a little time to reach out till the roots. The problem is the delay in reaching out,” he added.

Mohan Bhagwat reiterated his confidence in India’s trajectory, stating that the nation is moving in the right direction. He assured the scientific community that their concerns would be addressed, emphasising the inevitability of positive change in the near future.
