WF Kumuyi, a Nigerian pastor on a pre-Christmas tour of Andhra Pradesh and Telangana, has asked Christians to pray for a favorable Government in Andhra Pradesh, which will hold elections in next 140 days. He stated that the Christian body will back whoever supports them.

Pastor WF Kumuyi, the founder of the Deeper Christian Life Ministry Worldwide, made these remarks in his prayer speech at Kakinada, Andhra Pradesh on November 19, 2023, and thanked the organisers for organising this three-day event held on November 17, 18, and 19 at Mc Laren Grounds, Kakinada, Andhra Pradesh. Thousands of Christian followers and local pastors attended the event.

Dwarampudi Chandrasekhara Reddy, YSRCP MLA from Kakinada City, stated, “There are nearly 140 days until the elections, after which it will be clear who will be the next Chief Minister of the State.” My wish is that a Christian, the same Jaganmohan Reddy, be re-elected as Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh. The pastors are well aware of how strong we can be when a Christian becomes a Chief Minister once more.”

Jakkula Benhur of Rakshana TV, a Telugu 24-hour Christian channel, praised MLA Dwarampudi for assisting them in overcoming the scrutiny of the police department in conducting this pre-Christmas Celebrations event.

Kannababu Kurasala, Kakinada District YSRCP President and rural Kakinada MLA, who was also present on stage, stated that Chief Minister YS Jagan is inspired by Bible scriptures to be in public life and help others. They are almost finished with the construction of a Christian community center and are ready to open.

In response to Dwarampudi’s Christian Chief Minister slogan, YSRCP suspended MP Raghuram Krishnam Raju stated, “If Christian as CM of Andhra Pradesh is the party’s slogan, then 80 per cent of Hindus can wish to have Hindu as Chief Minister.” Officially, Andhra Pradesh is 2 per cent, but they account for nearly 20 per cent of the population. Previously, Vijayamma, YS Jagan’s mother and Late Rajashekar Reddy’s wife, would attend meetings while holding a bible in her hand as a signal to the attendees.

Prior to this event, the Hindu Dharma Rakshana Samithi lodged a formal complaint with the district superintendent of police on November 16, raising serious concerns about visiting foreign evangelists participating in Christian activities, a serious violation of visa provisions.
