Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma announced that Uniform Civil Code Bill will be passed in Assam by next year February and no one will be allowed to have more than one wife.
He said that even the Muslim society has been supporting initiative when it was put for debate in that section.
“Prime Minister Narendra Modi put a stop for Tripple Talaq. Now moving one step ahead, we are bringing in the Uniform Civil Code Bill. With this a man can have only one wife. If he wants to marry, he has to legally divorce the fist wife. We will think about entire people of the nation and will not confine to only one section like BRS and Congress,” said Himanta Biswa Sarma while addressing a public meeting as part of election campaign at Charminar in the city on November 22.
“I had seen a video where the someone is behaving abusively with police. It is being taking place as there is a Government trying to appease one section. Bring the BJP Government to power and imagine anyone daring to misbehave with the police,” he asked adding that changing the name of Hyderabad to Bhagyanagar will be half an hour job after BJP coming to power in Telangana.
“Bring BJP government in the State and at Centre. Can any one dare to behave rash with police. There will be no appeasement in Telangana. In UP and Assam also the same was the situation in the past. But after coming to power BJP changed it for better. Only one community is being addressed here. We have to bring change in Telangana. Whatever happening in Telangana was not happening properly. What happened to the question papers of TSPSC? Where is Dalit CM?” he asked stating that KCR fearing to observe the Liberation Day as it will antagonise one section of people. He said that Prime Minister Modi and Home Minister Shah will not fear for anyone.
“In Assam I have visited Madarsas. Children told me that they wish to become doctors and engineers. I told the parents that it was not the proper education to make them what they wish. We have changed all the Madarsas into general schools. Now they are happy,” he said adding that development means Sab Ka Sath and Sab Ka Vikas.
“You have seen both BRS and Congress Governments which are corrupt and appeasing. Give a chance to BJP and be witness to change that take place before your eyes,” he appealed the public.
