Ahead of the upcoming winter session of Parliament in December, Union Parliamentary Affairs Minister Pralhad Joshi on November 10 said that the Centre is ready for discussions on all the topics that will be demanded by the Opposition parties.

Speaking to reporters in Bhilwara, Pralhad Joshi said, “The (Winter) Session (of Parliament) will begin on December 4 and conclude on December 22. There are a lot of bills, too. I urge everyone, especially our Opposition parties, that the Government of India is ready for all the discussions that they demand. I call upon you for a structured debate.”

Earlier, Union Parliamentary Affairs Minister Pralhad Joshi informed that the winter session of Parliament will be held next month, from December 4 to 22.

“Winter Session 2023 of Parliament will commence on December 4 and continue until December 22, having 15 sittings spread over 19 days. Amid Amrit Kaal, I look forward to discussions on legislative business and other items during the session,” Pralhad Joshi said.

The session will be held a day after the declaration of the results of the assembly polls in five States- Rajasthan, Madhya Pradesh, Chhattisgarh, Mizoram, and Telangana.

The outcome of the polls is expected to have resonance in the session. The bills to replace the IPC, CrPC, and the Evidence Act may be taken up for consideration during the session. While the Government will seek to push its legislative agenda, Opposition parties are likely to press for discussion on issues of concern to them.
